What's more, we couldn't schedule 13 "name" schools OOC if we wanted to. A lot of schools won't schedule us home and home (see Michigan who backed out of a deal). Playing most of our OOC games on the road is really not realistic for us.

I disagree. 300+ RPI teams are absolute anchors to your resume and do nothing good. I don't even think they help your team play better, as they are so bad teams gaim bad habits playing against them. The key is replacing these teams with 150-250 RPI teams from the MAC, OVC, Horizon, etc. like Huggins used to do. For some reason Mick is infatuated with these So-Con and SWAC teams that are terrible.

So you would be happy playing Oakland (MI) and Illinois State home and home? We can't afford to buy them out of their home games.

Maybe some time a one for one, but probably more 2 for 1s. Some how during the BH years we alsways had teams like this for one game series, did we get poorer? The other thing Mick can do is do some research to see what teams are expected to win their conference. He just needs to get a little more creative to avoid the 10 or so 250+ RPI games he schedules every year.

Why would any of these schools agree to a 2 for 1?

Scheduling to manage RPI is a game everyone is trying to play and the schools with the money are able to do that. UC was ahead of the curve back in the day

Did UC move to the poor-house?

Teams like Illinois State and Oakland would absolutely do 2:1 deals with UC. I think you are undervaluing your program. Why would they do it? Because it's a resume-making win if one of those teams can beat you. Those chances are almost impossible to get outside of MTEs for those schools.

Well, we can’t change conferences, so you effect what you can. OOC schedule. This isn’t rocket science.

YES - please see 5 years of Realignment posts by those that understand the economic race that UC loses every day.
