No, but I would expect him NOT to say s h i t like that. Makes him look like he doesn't know how to evaluate talent.

"We are a work in progress. It is going to take some time to get all the new players on the same page. We will be working hard and improving throughout the season". etc.

Plenty of things to say other than the things he said. It either makes him look stupid or it makes him look like he thinks everyone in Memphis is stupid. Which one do you think?

At this point there is no defending the Tub. It is a matter of whether he will jump off his pedestal and actually start working hard to recruit good players. From his past, he will refuse to do any more than what he is presently doing which is going to result in his firing next season.

He was always really bad at recruiting but then he dumped one of his bad assistants to bring on his really, really, really bad son as an assistant.

Agreed.
It is evident, at least to me, that the staff's eye for talent is just not there. Mike Parks, for example, is flat out terrible. The guy just can't play a lick.

First year He was just effing lazy, period.

Last year he signed three Ok freshmen and then didn't realize until,too late that he was going to lose his best three players. He had to really scramble and hit the JUCO ranks hard just to have what could be a .500 team.

His third class, the 2018 class is a complete disaster so far. One player a 7'4" project. If he had signed a great class for 2018 a lot less people would be on his ass.

If he only wins 12 to 14, he has to go. That doesn’t work here. Period.

He wlll do the literal bare minimum

16-15, 7-11 AAC. enough to keep him here 1 more year

The team will have a better season than all the prognosticators and naysayers are claiming they will have.
