Towards the end of the game, they had a tough time getting the ball in bounds. Sad state.....
"We are a work in progress. It is going to take some time to get all the new players on the same page. We will be working hard and improving throughout the season". etc.
Plenty of things to say other than the things he said. It either makes him look stupid or it makes him look like he thinks everyone in Memphis is stupid. Which one do you think?
Tubby is not stupid, certainly.

139 MEMPHIS 2-1, New Orleans is now 281
Seeing as how #281 New Orleans was a few mistakes away from a very close game
103 Northern Kentucky 2-2
141 UAB 2-3
86 Mercer 2-4
180 Samford 2-5
326 Bryant 3-5
102 Albany 3-6
22 Louisville 3-7
279 Sienna 4-7
263 Loyola MD 5-7
94 LSU 5-8
5-8 (7-6 at best, 4-9 at worst) going into conference play, now it gets ugly.

Just let them play.
Davenport is special--a real athlete.
Brewton is an All American.
Azab is going to surprise some people.
Memphis finally has some big boys. Real legit D1 size.
And...the cancers have been removed.
The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Tubby has a plan. HOF'er.

In conference play, I believe at this time that only ECU and USF lag us. Let’s say we beat them and upset one other team. Our conference regular season record would be 5-13 and overall record in range from 10-21 and 12-19 (including AAC Tourney).
Would the result trigger some kind of action from our President and AD? Based on Dr. Rudd’s recent comment, I do not think idleness is a probable outcome.

This is really not that great of a team and the worse thing is it isn't going to get any better anytime in the next couple of years so there really isn't anything to look forward too.

It all comes down to who (if anyone) is willing to admit their mistake and eat the buyout money.

I'm more dire than most in terms of assessment of talent, but (barring suspension or injury) there is NO WAY IN HELL Memphis is losing more than one or two games to the combined rest off the OOC (minus Louise and LSU).
Worst logical case is finishing 8-5 in the OOC w/ losses to Bama, LSU, Ville, and @UAB (who just lost b2b games vs. Buffalo and Richmond) and one of the other home buy games.
Samford is 1-4 including a 40 point loss to Arky and a 30 point loss to LSU.
Mercer lost to a UCF team w/o Tacko and BJ Taylor.

It is a lot of money, but fortunately many of our boosters have sufficient wealth to handle it. We are blessed that they care about our program to the point of parting with their money that could be used for other purposes (like creating more wealth). I would do my part through a “go fund me” site.

Im finally in too on the Tubby experiment being a failure. So serious question, who are we replacing him with? Is this job even attractive anymore?

Of course it's attractive. If Memphis football could get coaches after firing an alum after two years, Memphis basketball can get a stud coach after going through one of the worst four year stretches in recent memory.
Especially with the facilities and the great Memphis talent available in 2019 and 2020.

It seems that way for sure but last 2 hires netted us Josh and Tubby. Who is the stud coach you are thinking of?

This job is very attractive for several reasons. One of the reasons is that 21 million dollar palace of a practice facility. It is flat out awesome.

What happens with the remaining OOC schedule depends upon 2 things. Mainly we need to defend well. Will we defend as well going forward or does UNO just stink?
It’s less likely that our shooting will improve, but we’ve been getting open shots. The hope is we start making more of those open looks.

Lol. Davenport isn’t bad. He had a nice one handed alley oop dunk last night and is averaging around 13/game. The one I missed on was Jamal Johnson. He has a lot of time to improve, but I thought (at a minimum) he’d be able to hit open shots.
I probably thought Brewton would be better as well. Who knows how that will play out? I could see him making a living with the floater if he can master that.

UNO was blown out by Oakland and St. John's with their full roster and they played us last night without their best guard.

Who was their best guard they didn't have? I think Tubby is a bit senile if he's making that statement.
I looked at the stats and A guard only played one minute and another guard didn't play at all (Jorge Rosa) but he only averaged 5ppg.
