Maybe... OR even a 4-7 ACC team is pretty good?
No. Miami is overrated. A 4-7 ACC team is the equivalent of a 5-6 team in the American.
Miami is very, very good, but they clearly didn't come to play today (and the QB is having an AWFUL day).
Look, I have the utmost respect for the American Athletic Conference... but, NO, a 4-7 ACC team is NOT equivalent to 5-6 in the AAC.
Here's Pitt's 2017 schedule:
SEP 02 – W - Youngstown State
SEP 09 – L - @Penn State
SEP 16 – L - Oklahoma State
SEP 23 – L - @Georgia Tech
SEP 30 – W - Rice
OCT 07 – L - @Syracuse
OCT 14 – L - NC State
OCT 21 – W - @Duke
OCT 28 – W - Virginia
NOV 04 – OPEN
NOV 09 – L - North Carolina (THU)
NOV 18 – L - @Virginia Tech
NOV 24 – ? - Miami (FRI)
The average AAC team can certainly lose to the teams that beat Pitt, but can they beat UVA or Duke? I don't think so, TBH.
The AAC has a 5-6 team, Temple - here's their 2017 schedule:
@ ND L49-16
vs NOVA W16-13
vs UMASS W29-21
@ 21 USF L43-7
vs HOU L20-13
@ ECU W34-10
vs CONN L28-24
@ ARMY L31-28
vs NAVY W34-26
@ CIN W35-24
vs 15 UCF L45-19
@ TLSA ???
Would Pitt have lost to ND? Probably. To USF, UCF and Houston? I'll even give you those. UConn and Army? Not likely. Thus, I'm saying Pitt would be 7-4 against that schedule, with a likely win against Tulsa coming up to get to 8-4. Who's 8-4 in the AAC? Houston. So I think 2017 Pitt = 2017 Houston (approximately). That's not meant to be demeaning, just trying to compare teams.
