LOL, Seth is that you? Seriously, the revisionist history that is the Seth Greenberg tenure at USF is remarkable.
In USF's meager basketball history, we've managed one conference title (hey to our "empty trophy case " meme) and two additional NCAA tournament berths. Plus, we've also managed to get to the NIT's version of the Elite 8, coming within a missed Chucky Atkins free throw at the end of regulation from going to Madison Square Garden. In one of those NCAA appearances, we made it to the third round, beating Cal and Temple before falling just short of making the Sweet 16.
Point is, you know how many of those successes came under Seth? None. Zero. Zilch. Never won a conference title. Never made the NCAA's. Never won an NIT game. But somehow, Seth is credited for whatever successes we've had.
I'm not saying Seth is the worst coach in our history (Orlando Antigua was a disastrous hire, though Robert McCullum was a close second). But Seth ranks as, at best, the 4th best coach we've ever had, behind Lee Rose, Bobby Paschal and (yes) Stan Heath. I argued at the time that it was a mistake to fire Heath (the guy who won Big East Coach of the Year while at USF in 2012, long after Seth was gone), and replacing him with Antigua (after the Steve Masiello "I never graduated from college" fiasco fell flat) was a disaster that has set the program back at least half a decade.
Sorry, I just get heated when people sing Seth's praises when he didn't accomplish sh1t here.
