Yeah, I don't see Soft Houston beating South Dakota. Trashing the likes of Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, and Abeline is no way to prepare for a MVC team. Them at #6 is a complete joke.

In my opinion, this is what helped bump NDSU up to the 2 seed.

How can they justify SDSU at five and suu at eight with those rankings? Both JSU and uca are paper tigers.

RE: Playoff picture
If you put value in the NCAA SRS rankings, our 6-team 'region' is absolutely stacked, NDSU's is laughable, while UCA's and JSU's are roughly comparable. Although I'd have to give the edge to UCA's being stronger due to the presence of SDSU over SHSU as '2nd' seeded team.

#1 Region
1 James Madison 2.00
4 Southern Utah 1.37
7 Weber St. 1.27
9 Western Ill. 1.23
11 Stony Brook 1.13
76 Lehigh -0.47

#4 Region
3 South Dakota St. 1.43
5 Central Ark. 1.36
16 UNI 0.97
23 Monmouth 0.76
31 New Hampshire 0.56
35 Central Conn. St. 0.45

#2 Region
2 North Dakota St. 1.61
15 Furman 1.01
17 Wofford 0.92
20 Elon 0.83
22 Northern Ariz. 0.78
40 San Diego 0.33

#3 Region
6 Jacksonville St. 1.32
10 Sam Houston St. 1.16
13 Samford 1.10
14 Kennesaw St. 1.06
18 South Dakota 0.91

Yeah, that or they way overvalued UNH's win over GSU. According to the NCAA's own SRS rankings Delaware was 10 spots higher than UNH (21 vs. 31). They were the 2nd highest ranked team to be left out (McNeese St. @18). UNH was the lowest at-large to get in.

Delaware was shown as the first two out, but apparently UNH was secure enough to not even be one of the last two in.

You hit on one of the two things I found shocking. 1. UNH being so secure they weren’t even in the last two in. 2. Nicholls State gets in over McNeese and Austin Peay.

We did get a tough draw, no question. Just take the Ric Flair philosophy: to be the best you got to beat the best. Wooo!

One nice thing about a potential second round game with Stony Brook...their star RB I believe is Stacy Bedell, who once was committed to JMU before decommitting at the last minute to go to UMASS, where he never got playing time.

They can have their two and potentially three aluminum trophies. I’m happy with my one brick trophy just fine.

Yep and we have the opportunity to end his senior season in the house he decommitted from. He’s come full circle.

Well this proves the committee was swayed by all the whining from the MVFC over the years. There is virtually no competition for the Bison in their bracket including Jax State. The regular season is played to determine what teams are deserving of the most favorable route to the title game. The committee is not supposed to reward the 2 seed Bison regardless of how many times they have played SDSU in the past.

Regardless our team and staff will be ready to roll in December ; can’t wait to watch the Dukes roll over whoever is in their way. Go Dukes!

Versus sim ratings say we basically have the toughest path possible:

1) JMU
2) NDSU
3) SDSU
4) SUU
5) Stony Brook

So, basically our path looks like it will be to play in order, #5, #4, #3, #2.

NCAA couldn’t have lined up a tougher bracket for us if they tried.

Well it isn’t changing. I would assume that the team an HCMH doesn’t care and is loading up to prove it doesn’t matter and they are still the best team. I would be more concerned with matchups vs. seedings. I wouldn’t want to play wofford on one week prep (see Navy vs Notre Dame last night). We are at home and have the additional week to plan for SB/Lehigh and then Southern Utah. Both SUU and SDSU/UCA could be potential matchups that challenge us, however we game plan well and if the offense continues to hit its stride we will be in the best position possible. Let’s just go win games.

Arguably Stony Brook or Western Ill, both in our regional bracket. Both had a case to be seeded.

FWIW, ndsu had many “tougher half”brackets during the last six years (including last year’s bracket finally nipping them). That didn’t seem to stop them from still winning five in a row and get to the semifinals last year.
If we’re really the best, we’ll have no trouble dispatching anyone in our path.
