What is most interesting is that UTK is still operating under the illusion of being a program that can compete for a nat'l title. If they would assess the program honestly, UTK hasn't been in that position for 20 years. In that amount of time a trend becomes the entrenched reality, yet the UTK nation doesn't seem to realize it. It will be very difficult for UTK to ever again be better than 3rd best in the SEC east unless they find the right coach & give him 10 years to fix the program. And frankly the UTK admin doesn't seem to know how to choose a coach if the last 3 are an example or have the patience for the right coach to fix the program. Same goes for ADs at UTK, they have had some real losers - and this maybe the basis of the problems.

You can't fully blame them because the stupid media keeps ranking them top 15 every preseason it seems
