Gotta get tickets to that Applebees Bowl. I do love me some frozen hotwings and a cold Natural Lite.

RE: G4 Power Rankings and Playoff Projections - Initial Assessment

1. Florida International - Under Lane Kiffin's guidance this team is making waves in the G4. They are coming off a monster 14-7 win over UTSA which is a pretty intimidating abbreviation. They still have Dunk City on their schedule and control their destiny in the CUSA. Really impressed by G4 standards with the 4 min Youtube highlight video I saw.
2. Toledo - Congrats! Looks like they are going to be the least short midget in the MAC. This ranking is solely based on the standings and my lack of effort.
3. Arkansas State - Tough losses to Nebraska and SMU. However the highlight of their season is getting Miami to cancel the game against them. Those kind of mind games have led them on a tear resulting 5 G4 wins. The Sunbelt will be going through them.
4. Boise State - The top MWC contender for the G4 title. Their signature win to this point was 24-13 over Troy in their home opener. Didn't watch much video as their field is a God awful color in some scheme to help their team. Can you believe it? Their field is blue! No wonder they don't put their games on TV.
5. Troy - Would be higher if they didn't lose to a MWC school. The win against LSU on their expected bye week is impressive.
6. North Texas - They earned this ranking with a 5-1 record in the G4 powerhouse of CUSA. They handled this Old Dominion team (Is that a real school?) pretty well in the video I watched. Overall disappointing football, but I guess a win is a win. Interesting note, apparently they are taking after P6 Michigan State and calling themselves Mean Green. Seemed real little brother to me.
7. Fresno State - Interesting dilemma here. At 6-3, they only have 1 bad loss to UNLV, but they don't have a quality win. This team seems solidly below average, which makes them about 7 on the G4 power rankings.
8. Ohio University - Is 7-2 with tough loss to football power house Purdue. Their matchup versus Toledo tomorrow has serious power ranking implications and a possible G4 playoff bid on the line.
9. UAB - Give credit where credit is due. This program was non-existent a few years ago, and now they are already on the G4 power rankings. Shows how little effort is really needed to win at a G4 level.
10. Rutgers - Squeaking in despite the early season loss to EMU. They are making it into this list based on the quality of opponents, as they are not afraid to schedule P6 programs. The B10 scheduling/market agreement has really worked out well for them in this regard. Unfortunately it is unlikely in 2017 they will be adding to their 6 bowl wins in their 145 year history.
Current G4 Playoff Projections
FIU versus Boise State in the Applebee's Mediocre Done Right Bowl, Feb 2nd @ 7pm on CBSSN
Toledo versus Arkansas State in the Car-Mart Classic Bowl, Feb 1st @ 7pm on CBSSN
G4 Championship Match Projection
Date is still TBD, but I am optimistic it will get picked up by ESPN3 or Fox Sports 1.
Arkansas State over FIU in a relatively uninteresting game. I don't have much else to add at this point. I figured projecting the power ranking upset may earn me some additional expert cache. In reality, it been a massive struggle to care about G4 football for as long as I have today. There has also been significant concern that one of my fellow P6 co-workers would notice my sudden interest in G4 football. I would like to still have friends at work. No one wants to chat with the guy who continuously rambles on about teams and games no one cares about.
You do realize BSU makes more $ and is on TV more than cincy? I would stick with more of the field is ugly angle it works better. Jmho

I'm not giving anything away for free. I usually just take cash out of register 2 and pay into register 1, that way I'm legitimately paying for it. That's how it works, right?

I take my G4 expertise very seriously and would never rank a team "just because".

Toledo will be dropping after tonight. Their only 'hope against hope' team.

Don't have to worry about Toledo dude arguing about their access bowl chances anymore.

I still don't understand why FAIU has 2 teams in every sport.

Lane is at FAU, and ESPN had them in at #25 in of of their polls. (Probably to troll Saban a bit)

But why does FAU's International school get a basketball/football team? UCONN Dental School doesn't get their own teams...

G4 Univ of Alabama at Birmingham has teams. Seems silly.
