Many of the teams you beat during that period had 'winning records' when you faced them but finished at .500 or below in no small part because of the loss to Marshall.

actually 1 out of 6 or more losses would be a small part because of Marshall.

I think he's referring to Marshall's knack for inflicting losses at crucial moments with deeper impact than a single game. In our last pre-Watts season (2014) Marshall kept us out of a bowl by stopping Jordan Howard for a 2-yard gain when we had to have 3.

I get that but you had to have 6 other losses for that to matter. If our game had been the same earlier in the season it would have been another team you lost to as the bearer of bad news. And the Marshall game would have little significance with the exact same results.

Your coach beat UAB. Our's didn't.

Our QB beat UAB, our coach did his best to make us lose (coach did make a good call on then 2 point conversion).
We are 4-10 on FG's this season (longest being a 30 yarder) and our coach let the clock run down with two timeouts to attempt a 48 yarder to end the first half.
We were going to get the ball back with three minutes left in the game, had them stopped and the coach called a jail break punt block resulting in a roughing the punter which killed any shot of a win.
Our starting TE Tyler has been called for holding four times on the same play called over three games (quick pass to the sideline where goes out and blocks).
We get penalized with personal fouls penalties more than any team I've ever seen.
Our play calling is terrible. Read options where the running back is flat footed when he gets the ball. Passes for three yards when we need eight.
On defense, our defensive backs play 12 yards off the ball on the sidelines and the middle is always open in the zone. I'm not sure how they do that. We bite on any misdirection.
We stunted and blitzed yesterday for the first time I've ever noticed.
We have missed seven field goals out of eleven and 2 extra points so far this season.
While I do think Doc is terrible (I hope you keep him) and Hopson is awful, it simply play calling, we do stuff that college football teams shouldn't do....and we do it consistently.
Charlotte's coaching staff is bad at that, but even worse at developing players, recruiting, and just teaching football....and worse is that I don't see us coming out of this.....I don't see the staff even being on the hot seat......but the worst part of all is that if this staff is fired, our incompetent AD will hire another terrible coach to replace him.

Garrick McGee once incurred a delay penalty for having two players on the field with the same jersey number.

Garrick McGee once did not attempt a single pass in a game, to spite message board fans saying we should run the ball more.

Garrick McGee once elected to kickoff both halves of a game.

Please.

I would kill for a dude with kind of spunk instead of "aw shucks, we lost because we're a new program, despite having a 10 point lead with 7 minutes and the ball".... or "aw shucks, we were just glad to have blown a 21 point lead to lose to the worst team in CUSA, because it's a new experience for this new program".... or "aw shucks, you can't expect us to get more than eight first downs or score points coming off our bye week against a team that gave up 35 points a season until today because some of these guys have never come off a bye week before"..... or "aw shucks, we decided new programs shouldn't call fair catches, so we might lose a punt or two while we implement that policy".

I don't care that we lose games, but I hate being uncompetitive and playing stupid. The effort of the players has always been positive, but the positions these coaches put them in is impossible.

we got penalized by the Tennessee refs for suspicion of intending to jump. those things would seem to belong in the same gag reel.

That was stupid.
The sad truth is that a CUSA team isn't going to get a fair shake against a P5 school at their place ever. Between that and the perfectly legal hit, y'all dead men walking.

the targeting that was, but wasn't. then the offsides that wasn't, but was, the pass interference that wasn't, but was, a face ask that wasn't grabbed, but was called, and suspicion of intending to jump. those were the more hilarious ones in a night full of laughers.

You guys didn't get one single recruit or transfer?

Of course, we did. But every major player who is making plays on this team has been there since the previous coaching regime.

The only major contributor that is new is the freshman WR Willie Wright. All these transfers that we had talked about as the last Chance Kiffin U are not on the field. Tuilani plays a on the D-Line, but most of them get garbage time. Players that play also played last season.

Let me see if I can simplify this...

Most College Football Coaches > Kiffin > Most C-USA Coaches

Interesting experiment - just plug in a new coach. Validates what a lot of people are saying on my board.

BTW, is "major" the same as "starter"? How many of the top 22 were on the team last year?

21.5 out of 25 (11 on the offense, 11 on defense, 2 kickers and a long snapper). There are two true freshmen (CB Gilbert Zyon and WR Willie Wright) on the starting roster and one transfer (DT Taleni, from Pitt) who is a starter. WR DeAndre McNeal (transfer from Texas/Fullerton College) starts in the three WR schemes.

LATE EDIT: An article in FAU's Fan blog supporting this statement: http://fauowlaccess.com/floridaatlantic/...017/11/06/

I don't know what his problem was, but he was rapidly becoming a blight on UAB Football. I haven't forgotten what he did to Jackie Williams prior to the 1st game of the 2013 season... I hope he has to dodge falling bird **** every time he sets foot outdoors for the rest of his life.
