Our biggest passing play was 29 yards for a TD against VU and 27 yard rush by Marshall against WM. Those are our biggest offensive scoring plays of the season in CAA play. CAA defenders have not given us much in the way of missed tackles or bad angles.

The solution is pretty obvious. Snap the ball back to O'Kelly and let him do his thing. During my daily call with Coach Houston this evening, I'll get him on this PDQ.

(seriously, is it just me or does HO'K running instead of punting look like it's available for the necessary yards to get the first down just about every time he starts running towards the sidelines?)

Be quite, let it be our secret.

the INT on saturday i dont think was a clear miscommunication. Receiver went inside and his pass went outside

Completely agree. we lack home run threats. At some point last year I said Rashard Davis was the unsung hero of our squad. I'm sticking to that. What he was able to do to stretch a defense vertically and horizontally - and also play fits with teams in special teams - we just dont have that player this year. I cant think of anyone with game breaking speed. Its one deficiency in what is a way above average receiving corps.

RE: JMU at Rhode Island Thread
The O-line play isn't opening the same holes as last year, plus Abdullah was just one heckuva RB. The other guys are good, but not quite as good as Abdullah (Johnson was close). The other thing I notice is that the receivers won most of the 50/50 balls Schor threw up last year. That's not happening this year.

We still seem to be very conservative with play calling. I have to think that there is more in the playbook that the staff is holding back until playoff time.

Given that, we should still win this one by 28. RI scores 7 due to being at home.

I think he's only made a couple bad decisions.. a bad Forced one against w&m, the other at wm was off Alls hands....

One other bad one, can't remember if it was Nova or... but the others weren't as bad as it seems on the stat line after re watching them.

I think about had to do with timing and chemistry... Alls / kloos absences early haven't helped... Stapleton down..Miller was out here and there...

Archie had a monster game, and i feel like we haven't seen him since...

I think we'll peak at the right time, starting this weekend

Miller looked explosive in open space vs UNH- let’s get him some more looks. Also we need to utilize the middle of the field with the tight ends and receivers. Middle is bound to be open with the way all opponents since Maine have sold out to stop the run.

To anyone who has been there previously, any info on parking etc?

Go Dukes!!

My brother and I are driving down for the game and buying tickets at the gate. Never been there before, so it should be fun. (It looks like great weather.)

URI is the worst defense we've seen since OOC play.

URI's brought in 2 transfer QBs this past offseason.
Their rJR UCF transfer started the 1st 6 games. UCF kid was a turnover machine (6 starts, 9 TD passes, 12 INT).

Their rJR New Mexico transfer, JaJuan Lawson, has started the last 2 games. 3 star Rivals out of HS in CA with about a doz I-A offers listed, including AZ, AZ State, BC. Listed at 6'0"/203.

Dual threat, statistically has looked pretty good in his 1st 2 starts:
1st start vs Elon:
Passing: 20 of 34, 247 yards, 2 TDs/1 INT
Rushing: 16 carries, 80 yards (excluding 3 sacks, 13 for 89).

2nd start vs Albany:
Passing: 15 of 19, 123 yards, 2 TDs/0 INT.
Rushing: 17 attempts, 57 yards rushing (excluding the 2 sacks, 15 for 68).

Regarding Rhode Island video feed: Can you purchase just this game? Or do you have to buy a month or year subscription?

What are viewing options.

I look for the Dukes to post back to back shutouts. Wouldn't mind seeing Cole get a lot of game action in this one either if the result is no longer in doubt.

Lawson at URI has basically started the last 2.5 games and has made a huge impact for their offense. I think they'd have a .500 or better record if he was starting all year. Granted, we should still win, but this URI team is currently better than the stats show.
