Anyway, it would be nice to be able to pull for the Shockers success in out of conference play and in the NCAA Tourney this season as fellow members of the AAC, but you are making that awfully hard to do at this point.
Apologies from WSU fans who hoped for and expected UConn to be competitive in a “meaningless exhibition” game against a middling Big Pee school.
I’ll adjust my expectations.

This is priceless... Big Pee... Witty.
Was curious how AAC was reacting to the EXHIBITION... Now I know. I have no lost love for our old Conference Mates (frankly, I think it was a huge mistake to go the football route - what do I know), but they do have just a tad more success than the new kids on the block. It was an exhibition against a very good Providence team that although they didn't have all their starters, they are seasoned and Good. Uconn is not yet. Now, I do hope they stay like this until January 20th, but that is another story!

Can your conference buddies come out to play, or is everybody at Pee Central busy dredging the bottom of the mid-major lake looking for that elusive 11th member?

I'm still here. I could never give up my AAC CSNBBS addiction. Thank you for your concern though. It was a rough night...
But all is not lost... We are well on our way to becoming a football school. If Memphis can do it, why not us?

UCONN is in contention to win some kind of National Championship every year. The sun is always shining.

Yeah, you're right. the conference has really struggled.. . "elusive 11th member" I think you'd find most of the BE faithful are perfectly content with where we are. The right market, right program---allowing for 20 Round robin games versus 18, I'm sure conference leadership would add someone from that mid-major lake.. MVC maybe, who know?

How's the Omaha BJ's doin'? You guys delighted with your newfound corn pone connection?
Free advice: NEVER travel to Nebraska. It is one of few states in the union that is worse than Kansas. A few years ago I drove up there to watch my Shockers destroy the ChicKUnhawks in the NCAA's and I lost cellphone reception for 45 mins after crossing the state line. That's 3rd world **** right there...

yeah, I think both parties are ok with Creighton being in the league... Don't be a hater now. It will all work out.

Lots of outside interest today for the AAC. Love it.
Being a Rutgers fan is an insult to athletics in general.

We'll try to pace ourselves. Might takes us 3-4 years to pick up as many AAC losses as you did in 1.

Yeah, well you went off and did it flagship... great work. The Big Pee has a clear measuring stick between the two conferences for the upcoming season. I'm hoping for a dead last finish out of UCONN in the AAC now to save face. The #4 preseason Pee pick dominating our last place team sits fine with me. So here's to you Corn Husks; here's to a long string of L's this season.
When your team doesn't even defend, it's time for a new coach.
T
...
WTF is wrong with people in Kansas. This was a charity exhibition for hurricane relief efforts. The final score doesn't matter based on that alone, but it especially doesn't matter when looking at how many new guys took the floor for UConn for the first time last night against an experienced Providence team.
I guess that I shouldn't expect much more from fans from the state that gave us the Westboro Baptist Church. Man, what a backwards place.
Oh please. If UConn would have pasted Providence by 30, we’d have UConn fans here talking Final Four.
Westboro has like 15 church members and is located in Topeka about 20 minutes from KU’s campus if you wanted to make a more accurate generalization.
Don’t get so bent out of shape. It’s not our fault the game wasn’t even freaking competitive, unless since it was an “exhibition”, that’s what UConn was looking for.
Actually, it we pasted Providence by 30, UConn fans would still acknowledge that it is still meaningless.
Unlike Wichita fans, UConn fans "act like they have been there before". We only thump our chests based on where we stand at the END of the season, not on some silly preseason rankings or the results of meaningless exhibition games.
Having attended both Conference tourneys in Hartford and attending almost all games UCONN played, even when it didn’t involve SMU, I’ve gotta call BS here. I’ve seen more chest thumping than down the road at the WWF HQ.
I met and sat around some really great and knowledgeable UCONN folk and tipped many with them across the street between and after games. But the simple fact is that any time the going gets tough all you have to refer to is your past. Make no mistake it is an awesome past. But it has passed. You need to cut Ollie loose.
Your past success is blinding many if you to the reality of today.
