If the ChicKUns were in this league (we are ranked ahead of them in some preseason polls), people would be like WTF? Well... there is no diference between WSU and KU this year except for branding - end of story.
Like I said, thanks for the motivation. Marshall will make this conference pay. I predict he will be liked about as much in the AAC as he was in the MVC, Big South, etc... If it's not salary envy, it will be W/L envy or national popularity envy. If it's neither of those it will be because Gregg Marshall sometimes just comes off like a dick.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well since there's really no difference between Kansas and WSU maybe I should share what happened to the Jay Hawks last time they visit an AMERICAN arena
And I'm quite thankful for that "upset". I used it for everything it was worth against K|Uck City.
The reality is, Wichita State and Gregg Marshall are a proven commodity at this point - you know what you're gonna get every year. And what you're gonna get is a mountain of wins. We win the games we are expected to and the ones we lose are always by a gnat's ass. We WILL be competing for the conference championship, that is a given. Cincy is the #1 challenger, but make no mistake, they are the challenger. According to 100% of the national pundits, the AAC conference trophy is ours to take until proven otherwise. In fact, they're working on the engraving right now.
I'd also like to take this moment to apologize to SMU for how they've been so rudely removed from the conversation. Sorry SMU, you've made some hay while the sun shined; i.e. before the NCAA knocked on your door, but the Shockers are here now and the conference isn't the same sandbox you remember as a kid. I suspect you should be mentioned in the same sentence as Cincy since after all, you are the defending champions the last two years, but your coach sucks.
Speaking of sucky coaches... I can assure you Jank and Co. didn't cast their vote for the Shockers. I know this because Jank is Marshall's b!tch. Illinois State coaches are renown for casting animosity votes... the little people that they are.

Not sure how you're a proven commodity in a brand new conference, but logic doesnt seem your strong suit so i'll let it go.
I agree with another shocker fan, this should be fun to watch. Cincy and wsu finish 1st and 2nd, which is which i dont know. Behind them it will be a dog fight. Ecu and usf will be last.

Edit: Now that I think about it more, the only player that should be above Clark is Shamet. No one else in the conference impacts the game to Clark's extent.
agree....can't believe Gary isn't' on the first team lol

Correct, because that is the best position to be in to kick ass, Bubba! It's gonna be a fun season for both teams, and a better one for this conference as a whole. UCF should be formidable, I think Temple takes a big step up, and UConn begins the turn around.

They have skill, size, depth, and one of the league's more promising recruiting classes.
They seem more of a sure thing to me than UConn and Houston at least.
UCONN finished 2 games ahead of Temple last season despite 2 of our 3 most talented players being out for the season. We had 7 non-walk-on players available the entire season due to injuries.

It should be quite clear that the AAC preseason poll was a snub job laced with jealousy. Fair enough, we'll earn the #1 spot. See ya on the hardwood suckas.

Didn't Uconn lose 7 scholarship players to graduation/transfer? I think Temple only.lost 3.

Its because being the kings that craptastic conference you ruled gets you no brownie points with the AAC. You guys are darn lucky to be sitting at #2. I would have had you #3 or #4 behind UCF (they will beat you) and possibly SMU.

Temple lost 3 guys from an awful team, but they'll be better? UCONN lost 6 guys from an awful team, but they'll be worse? Do tell.

The difference in the situations are that Temple gets a proven pg back from injury and got valuable minutes/experience for players last year that will see significant time this year again because of injuries last year. With Brown/Lowe hurt, Moore, Alston, and Rose got a ton of minutes and two will start this season.
UConn lost 3 from a great recruiting class that set back their progression another year as they got no playing time/experience.
UConn has better "talent" but that talent is still inexperienced...I'd call this fairly even...
