OT, NDSU is a lot less intimidating away from the dome. YSU defense looks good.

Marshall crushes oduh...35-3. I'm sure the odu faithful will start talking about firing Wilder.

NDSU wins by the hair of their chinny chin, 27-24. If YSU doesn’t call a TO to ice the kicker, he may have missed that first one. The kicker saw which way the wind was blowing and adjusted after the TO.

South Dakota State was getting some pub in the offseason about being a potential contender in the MVC. They lost at home today to Northern Iowa by 20 points to move to 4-2/1-2 on the season.
South Dakota (6-0/3-0) and North Dakota State (6-0/3-0) are perhaps on a collision course for their Nov. 11 meeting in Fargo.

Seems pointless to me to give the kicker a practice shot with the 'ice TO'. That was a great game to watch though, tough loss for YS.

"Icing the kicker" is infuriating. It's almost a given that the kicker is going to be given a free kick. If anything the visiting coach is doing the guy a favor. If the guy makes it, he just has to kick it the same way. If he misses it, he know what he did wrong and can fix it.
It seems like not icing the kicker should be the new icing the kicker, because the kicker would think he's going to be getting a second chance, only to find out that was his only kick and he just missed it.

Northern Iowa should always be taken seriously. They have a good program.

Seems like they've had a MEAC game on each week. Pretty sure I've seen Morgan St., NC A&T, and others on the schedule when flipping through listings.

So the question is why Joey couldn’t do something like this with ESPN? A combo ESPNU / ESPN3 package would have been great. Its not like the MEAC makes for high quality TV, or should have any competitive advantage over the CAA.

I hope this does not have to be explained, it's rather obvious.

I'm pretty sure the fact that it's HBCU football is why they have a TV deal with the MEAC and SWAC. Unlike regular colleges too, HBCU fans actually turn out and view in far better numbers compared to generic FCS schools in most conferences.
Their linear tv games end up on Thursday or Friday nights on ESPNU only and if it shows up on late saturday night (10:30pm), it's a tape delay of a game that aired on ESPN3 earlier in the day.
