Kennesaw St. Game Thread
24 Kennesaw St.
27 Liberty
Attendance: 19,200 (because it's homecoming)
I really don't know what to think. KSU has a good record, but who have they played. I can say the same for us though... minus the good record. This is a game we "should" win for many reasons, but my confidence isn't high right now. I still think we pull it out.

Saw that we are going with the all red uniforms for the game. That is my favorite uni combo. I know most people don't like it, but I really do. I prefer the red LU helmet, rather than the Flame, but like'em both.

There are no more excuses...
With the budget of this program, and for where this program hopes to be in the future along with where our schedule is leading us in less than 11 months from now, any lose to a Big South team is unacceptable.
I don't care what happens as long as a "W" is on the board at the end of 4 quarters; PERIOD!

RE: Kennesaw St. Game Thread
KS running attack in the past was difficult for LU to contain. With LU having a week to prep, and after several weeks of listless offense, I expect to LU to prevail by 7+ points, then to struggle at Monmouth the next week with a 50/50 chance for a win there. BSC teams are going to be laying for LU with this the last year as teams laid for App St in their transition season. IF LU could go 4-2 that would be expected, at 3-3 or worse, expect the howls to get louder for a Gill replacement.

I respectfully disagree; 4-2 in Big South Play. Really, that is ok with you?
You are actually saying a loss to Monmouth, CSU, Gardner Webb, Presb, or KS is fine for a team that is about to play Syracuse, Auburn, UVA, NC State, VT, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Army, Troy, Rutgers, BYU, UMass, Bowling Green in the next 2 - 3 years. Transition years or not, if we expect to have a national identity, beating BSC teams should not be a struggle the way it has these last few years.

LUinPA, my 4-2 pick is what I expect/hope for them to accomplish, not that I am ok with that. I am not stating any loses are okay. It's just an opinion of what I expect.

At half:
Kennesaw St. - 28
LU - 7
Looks like 4-2 may be ambitious for LU.

Still a lot of game to play tonight.
Ugly first half.
IMO LU needs a new coaching staff to begin the FBS era.

Kennesaw St. Game Thread
Wow, this is ugly. What is the issue? Are our players not good enough to compete? Is the game plan bad? Is it a combination of both. We have not stopped them once on defense. The only time the KSU offense stalls is when they make a mistake. We came out and looked strong. I suppose KSU made a defensive adjustment because the offense completely disappeared after the first drive. Liberty looks like they are playing Alabama. Yep, this is embarrassing. Hope they can make it respectable in the second half.
I am putting down my glass of red coolaid for now.

RE: Kennesaw St. Game Thread
KS just scored again with ball control, their 5th TD. 35-7. Gill has got to get heart with this debacle.

Great, great play in the last part of 3rd quarter and so far in 4th. Can LU pull it out? Only down 7.

RE: Kennesaw St. Game Thread
At least LU made it interesting at the end and kept it from being a complete ass kicking. Something is out of kilter to be able to score 21 points in just a few minutes then give up almost 600 yards rushing and 42 points, at home and lose.

Demote Gill and find a new leader. I still believe Gills character as a man of God is awesome. Maybe there is some way to keep him on staff and get a new coach?

RE: Kennesaw St. Game Thread
Kennesaw State is good but Liberty should have been better. We can't come out of a bye week and be down 28-7 at halftime. That's unacceptable, as is losing three in a row. I would let Gill finish out the year and then let him go the day after the season. We need someone who coaches the team up instead of down. Too often we play to the level of our opponent which means we play down to the Big South Conference level instead of dominating a conference we outspend the combination of all the members.
