Toledo @ CMU predictions
Not scared of CMU but the games between us are always competitive. They make too many offensive mistakes in the end and we win 31-23... Going for 8 in a row is pretty rare in the MAC.

Right here! Just kidding, please don't insult me like that.
On ChippewasInsider I predicted this is the year we end the streak. Not because I think CMU is better than UT, but because I think we may be catching you guys at the right time. It's Homecoming for us, Bono is 2-0 on Homecoming, 8-4 at home, but also 0-2 against Toledo. It looks like UT has some crucial injuries, while CMU is regaining it's health. The past 2 years I remember CMU seemingly making stupid mistakes. In 2016, Spalding reaches for a TD but drops the ball at the 1 yard line right before half to go up 7-3. In 2015 we were on the 1 yard line and our TE commits a stupid holding penalty, pushes us back, then we get sacked and miss a long FG when we probably should have scored a TD....end up losing 28-23. Not saying we would have won either, but those mistakes stuck out and were preventable.
Maybe it's the homer in me making excuses, but CMU seems to play UT fairly well, but we either make a costly mistake or can't seem to capitalize against a good team like you guys. I picked UT to win the MAC this year, but losing Thompson and some linemen may derail that plan.

Holy crap...an opposing fan makes a prediction using logic and facts! Good luck! I will be there with 6 others. The CMU trip is always a fav of mine. Their students are ruthless!

I know nothing about CMU so we could lose this game but I think we have enough in the tank to pull this one out.

Wish I knew the status of Swanson & Jeppeson. But assuming they aren't ready to go I have a feeling we stub our toe this time--CMU 28, UT 26. On the other hand, coming back from Mt. Pleasant with a W given our current injury situation will send a signal to the rest of the MAC that the Rockets aren't going to just lie down.

A total toss up... I think we lose by a touchdown, not sure if we can overcome injuries... Candle said he might use Sims once healthy, been out 3 weeks with a knee. Depth chart has Jepperson playing, No replacement for Thompson.

Central Michigan is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
A mediocre CMU team can be it's regular mediocre self and then one day come out and play above itself and upset anybody in the conference. For example, this year they got stomped by Miami (who just lost to BGSUx). Then the Chips just turned around and beat Ohio.
So, which CMU is going to come out of the tunnel on Saturday? Since you never know what you're gonna get, I'm going with a prediction for each.
The CMU who got stomped by Miami who lost to BGSUx: Rockets 41 - Chips 31
The CMU who just beat Ohio: Chips 38 - Rockets 23

Actually, there's this little guide on the bottom of chocolate boxes. Way too many people drank the Forrest Gump kool-aid and call out chocolates for being inscrutable when they're not. CMU on the other hand....

Not trying to be the defensive opposing fan, but we really didn't get stomped by Miami. We lost clearly, but that game was strange. We had a 108 yard missed FG returned for a TD called back, threw an INT at the goal line, and got an INT against Miami only to be overturned. The game was pretty closely contested to be honest, regardless of the final score. But yes, we lost by a decent margin.
Good luck to you guys tomorrow.

That's OK, I understand. I just looked at the score which was pretty lopsided. And who misses 108 yard FG's? That's a chip shot for our guy.

Haha nice. Honestly, it's one of the best plays I have ever seen, only to be called back and no one will remember.

Yeah, we do that.
Those penalties are so frustrating. I figured it would be a hold or clip. Illegal Step Stooling is rarely called these days.

At the 108 yard field goal AND at the notion that anything is a chip shot for Vest.

RE: Toledo @ CMU predictions
CMU gets a lot of their points from turnovers. Our D will still give up some points to their improving Offence with players back. Their D won't create as many opportunities for their offence as usual because Toledo protects the ball well. Toledo will still put points on the board and will win both the field position battle and special teams battle and come away with the victory 38-27.
