We got ours yesterday.

Got mine on Thursday. Email (if you didn't get it), stated call ticket office if not received by Friday.

I got my tickets, but I was mildly disappointed that they are the generic tickets like the ones you would buy at the box office, not the ones with pictures of team members on them as in previous years in basketball and football. Not a big deal, but I have enjoyed holding on to certain tix, like the one from Thornton's last game in 2015. Also, I haven't received the Tribe Club pass to the halftime festivities. Gotta gulp down that free Bud that only cost $1000 a year.

Our halftime passes were with the tickets, so you might want to check in to that.

I hear you about the tickets, but remember that they've had massive turnover in marketing and tickets. Everything is new to everybody there. I'm expecting them to grow into their roles (by Gold Rush, I hope).

Well, that explains it. I'm too cheap for $1500. That was not explained in the mailing.

I stopped with the Person Room at halftime. The room was jammed, noisy and beyond conversation, food mediocre to poor, and for that money I'd expect a good craft beer from a tap!

Think about the Person Room differently; it's not a box suite where you pay to get really nice stuff. It's a small thank you for supporting the athletic department. Every dollar spent on snacks is a dollar less towards the program(s). Now if you could get the new brewery in town that's owned by alums to donate a keg each game or something, that could be a win-win as you improve the beverage offering and (theoretically) cut down on the cost.

I think theyd be better served by offering a few cheapo snacks for free, but then having good beer served at cost. Absolutely get Virginia Beer Company or other Alum brewing to give it at a discount (compensated by free ads all over the place). Seems like a no-brainer.

SOLID OPENING WEEKEND: It was a solid opening weekend in CAA men’s basketball, with the league’s 10 teams combining for an 8-4 record, including a 6-1 mark at home.


TOURNAMENT TIME: Five CAA teams participate in tournament action this week. Hofstra faces A-10 power Dayton in the first round of the Charleston Classic on Thursday night. Drexel meets Houston on Friday in the first round of the Paradise Jam, which will take place at Liberty University. James Madison meets Northern Kentucky on Friday in the Island of Bahamas Showcase. Elon takes on FIU in the opener of the Black & Gold Shootout in Milwaukee. Northeastern plays road games at Stanford on Friday and Ohio State on Sunday as part of the PK Invitational.

CHARLESTON, ELON RANKED IN PRESEASON MID-MAJOR POLL: College of Charleston is ranked 4th and Elon is ranked 22nd in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major preseason Top 25 poll. Both the Cougars and Phoenix welcome back all five starters from a year ago. UNCW and Hofstra were among other teams receiving votes. A new poll will be released later on Monday.

LOL, yeah, I quit that racket years ago also. My alum friends and I always joke about 2 things you can count on from the AD: typos/errors in the media guides and crappy "refreshments" in the Person room!

I got my tickets in the mail today - yay! Interesting note - my tickets do have player pics on them and are very sharp looking. Wonder why some didn’t get this?

Mine also had player pictures on them. In years past, if I waited too long to renew I'd get generics instead of nice tickets, both for football and basketball.
