First official practice is today! Good luck fellas. Gonna be a fun year!

Would love to hear how the guys look at the open practice tomorrow from anyone that can make it if the info is ok for the public.

They made it clear at the practice that it was a closed practice. No pictures, video, etc. So it's probably better to keep any reviews off the board.

With regard to the reception prior to practice, the video that was put together of the trip was nice, and AD Huge, Coach Shaver, and Paul Rowley had impromptu speeches for the gathered crowd. The guys all said how the trip was a great team bonding experience.

I can report that coach Shaver is at the football game and he lo9ks very happy.

Have seen the whole staff at the game, but no player/recruit sightings in my territory.

The shots of the team doing reverse trick-or-treating to the students on Oct 30 on the @WMTribeMBB Twitter feed are fantastic. The slightest bit of outreach by athletes is great to students that are on the fence or less interested in the athletic side of sports. As we all know, there's just more to do in the world today (both in Williamsburg and watching on TV/computer), so athletic teams have to fight for spectators. This kind of thing helps with that outreach. If a player walks up and has a brief conversation with a fellow student, and then at the end just says something like "We appreciate the support we get from our fellow students, it helps us play better, and makes a more fun atmosphere. It would be great if you could take some time and come support us at a game" I think it would help a lot. The players may already do that, and this kind of thing shows that they get the importance of that. Drifting over to football a bit, I loved what Caskin said in the media day interview this week about they know that the fans are disappointed, and I got the feeling that they are too, but wanted to convey the message that they appreciate that fan support. Each student "section" at Zable can hold about 500 people, and that's if they pack in full. Our football team has what, about 100 people on it? If each player could get three fellow students to come to the game, that's 300 people and makes a noticeable jump in bodies in the students section. I've rambled off into how the football team can help themselves with student support, but want to get back to my original point; kudos to the men's bball team for this outreach. I'm amazed at how the crowd at Kaplan has improved over the last few years. Students are a big part of that, and I look forward to seeing what it looks like this year!

They won't be after a few games. He's a very aggressive scorer without being a ball hog.

Anybody know where the High Point game will be online or network wise? I see the Big South network is showing it, but for the life of me I can't find a way to sign up for it.
