Nobody's going to want that job for a few years if this plays out the way I think it might.

Yeah, I'm reading a lot of stuff about an announcement at 4pm.

Hopefully Mick doesn't want the job.
Don't think anyone's going to want that job after this. This is like when Mick was the only one who applied for UC job; going to have to be willing to go through a long down period.

Sure they will, if the money is there.

Not sure Louisville would want to hire a former Pitino assistant. Plus, why would Mick want to go to a school with serious sanctions?

First, they will need a new AD, and to find out if the death penalty has been imposed.

There won't be a job... UL will be on probation for a number of years...

RE: Appears some bball coaches are going to get arrested
From the Louisville paper - snippet of an article.........

Fire them all. They deserve it.

They deserved it a long time ago.

Seriously, how much more embarrassing can Louisville's basketball program get under Jurich and Pitino?

If the sordid Karen Sypher affair in which Pitino was schtupping the waitress after-hours on a table in a Frankfort Avenue restaurant wasn't enough for you, how 'bout the abortion she got after he gave her $3,000.

No problem, Jurich said.

And if the abortion wasn't enough for you, how 'bout inviting prostitutes into the University of Louisville basketball dorm to — ahem — recruit 16- and 17-year-old kids.

I got your back, buddy, Jurich said.

And if paying for sex to get basketball recruits wasn't enough for you, we have what looks to be secretly recorded evidence that shows a University of Louisville coach talking about sending $100,000 to the father of a prized recruit.

That came just weeks after the NCAA announced penalties for the "hooker-shot" scandal that could require forfeiting the 2013 national championship.

We don't know what Jurich, who has spent the last decade filling his pockets with cash from the University of Louisville Foundation, has to say about this. He's not talking.

It's the coward's way out.

He needs to go. No one higher than the rank of receptionist should remain in the athletics department's central office.

If this program can get any sleazier, I'd like to know how.

The University of Louisville has always wanted its basketball program to be on par with the University of Kentucky, which set the bar for corruption in college basketball for five decades.

Congratulations, Cardinals fans. Not only are you on par with UK, you have surpassed big brother.

I don't think any established coach would want to walk into that mess.

Meh, I'm of the mindset that most of you are.

Has it not been speculated before that he'd be at least considered an heir to Pitino at UL? That's what made me think of it.

Actually Mack has often been speculated as a potential replacement. If this is as bad as it looks, and the speed they're moving makes me think it is, you're going to be lucky to hire a good low major coach and you'll have to give him a 6 year guaranteed deal.

How low are we talking here? I've been studying my playbook.

Saw this on ky sports radio:

— Terry Meiners just said on his radio show that Rick Pitino texted him and said, “I don’t know what the hell is going on.”

Sure

I am quite excited about how much this could help our program. There is no better time for us to be squeaky clean AND opening up a new arena AND essentially being a top 10 team.

We may be one of the biggest basketball programs left unscathed by all this... certainly, that will make us more appealing to recruits.

High major college sports are such a tangled web of relationships that everyone loses when the FBI pulls back the curtain and gives us a glimpse. Mick was a Pitino assistant; Pinto was interim president @ Louisville and UC was an Adidas school for several years. None of that implies anything untoward occurred around UC. Sadly, it's easy for the uninformed to connect the dots among universities and imply guilt by association even where none ever existed.

Will X feel the pain from Richardson's tenure? Who knows. My guess is many more coaches and schools will be implicated by those looking to plea bargain.

Ahhh, the Sgt. Schultz gambit. Good opening move.

Between banging waitresses after-hours and paying for abortions, having hookers in the dorms on recruit visits and now this gem, can anyone tell me how Tom Jurich and his buddy stay employed after this week?

RE: Appears some bball coaches are going to get arrested
This is going to be so much fun. Remember bribery is a two sided coin. The giver and the acceptor committed a crime. Tax evasion. Money laundering. And best all RICO may apply.

The part of the RICO act that gives it teeth is the prosecutor’s option to seize the indicted party’s assets, preventing transfer of funds and property. This provision makes it so that in the case of a guilty verdict the government would have something to seize from criminal enterprises. Otherwise, it would be possible for organizations to move assets around in shell companies making it harder to seize ill-gotten goods. In addition, this provision made it so it was hard for those indicted to pay for high-powered attorneys. Because of this a many cases are settled in plea deals.
