ESPN College Extra
I have noticed some channels deep into my DirecTV channel listing -- Channels 788-798, I believe. They are labelled ECEHD (ESPN College Extra)

They show basically WatchESPN (ESPN3) games, but never show any CUSA games.

They will even show teams like Slippery Rock, etc.

Anyone know how we can get CUSA on these channels (football and hoops) ? You do have to pay for a sports package to get the channels.

I have noticed that most of the time several of the ECEHD channels do not get used.

CUSA doesn't have a good contract with espn. Basically our coverage with them is either when we play a team whose conference is contracted with them or we are in the champ game or bowl game. I don't like ESPN but we do need to renegotiate a better deal with them for more exposure.

Other than the ACC, there are hardly any FBS games on ECE any more. As a free extra, I'm paying too much for the games being provided on those channels this year.

I watched a game between Mississippi College and Delta State on one of these channels last year, but we can't get CUSA games on there. The Gulf States Conference gets more air time than CUSA. Whoever negotiates our deals couldn't give away a glass of water in the Sahara during the dry season at midday.

I am a Mississippi College graduate and I agree it is nonsensical. I can watch every MC game somehow but not Southern Miss. Every week I'm trying to figure out if the channel I need is on Roku or if I need to have Youtube tv or whatever else just to see the game....and we wonder how we are all losing fan interest.

As a season ticket holder I hope to get to see eight games from my seats (7 Home +CCG) and another one (possibly two) on the road (Bowl and @Rice). Thanks for the heads up though.

@goldeneagle21, what years were you at MC? I spent a couple years off HWY 80 in Clinton myself before transferring to Tech.

One of the many mistakes CUSA has made over the years was take the CBS contract over the ESPN one years ago...We have paid dearly ever since...

I don't know what happened after the 2013 realignment with C-USA's TV contract but for at least 2 seasons around 2011-2012 almost every game was on CBSSN or FSN. As a UCF I was impressed at the availability of 11-12 games being televised vs the 3-6 televised games during previous years in C-USA under the ESPN banner (2005-2010).
