Who isn't taking advantage of this country? Who doesn't live here because they love the freedom, the social advancement, the opportunities granted to us by this country?
Come on man, you have to do better than that. They come here because they know what everyone in the world knows. We are the best country in the world.
We don't have to be great again, we are already great.
"Great" is subjective.
Are our public school systems great?
In many ways yes. In our current public school system, a normal child can start Kindergarten without even knowing English and graduate as a senior knowing two languages and be prepared to enter the working world or go to college.
Do some other countries do it better? Of course. Do we have problems? Of course.
That doesn't mean however that we should throw the baby out with the bath water.
You are obviously a product of our declining school system. You would be laughable if it wasn't for the fact there are many wackos like you out there. English is the language of the country, are you trying to create a Yugoslavia here so everyone can kill each other?
Non citizens cannot vote, SCOTUS will end this nonsense.

Clearly you haven't been reading my posts. I have said that I do not want to change the laws.
I simply asked what the argument for only allowing citizens was. The fact that you and many others have no answer speaks volumes.

There isn't a vested interest there. It's also constitutional that only citizens can vote.
They don't have a vested interest in this country? I thought we had 20 million who have lived here an have had children here? If you come to this country to have an "anchor baby" are you not vested in the future of this country?

I live in a big city and see poverty and homelessness on a daily basis. What country doesn't have these problems?

That had been answered.
In fact, one post in particular summed it up: What's the point of being a citizen?

We've provided several answers. You just happen to not like them.

RE: College Park decides Tuesday whether to allow noncitizens to vote
There is already a mechanism to allow for non citizens who come here and love this country and want to be a part of it to vote.
YOU BECOME A CITIZEN.

Look, if it were up to me, you'd only vote when you filed your taxes, but I'm also a firm believer in states' rights, so unless you live in college park it's really nothing to get upset about.
