After going 3 and out on their first two possession, USA drove the field from their own 2 yard line but can't punch it in once reaching the Ole Miss 1 yard line. They do eat up over 9 minutes on the drive.

10-3 Ole Miss leads with 7:35 left in the first half.

RE: GAME THREAD: South Alabama @ Ole Miss -- September 2 -- 6:30 PM CST
Ole Miss scored two TD's in the first 4 minutes of the second half. We added a field goal just to turn around and give up a kickoff return. I left the game when it was 47-13 them. We had a good following in the visitor section.

It all it was a beautiful night for football, we just forgot to come out of the locker room after the half. I saw one stupid personal foul, but had a few opportunities for a couple more. We have always been undisciplined and we had a few late crap going on that just didn't get called.

Once Neiko Robinson went down late in the second half, our defense just didn't look the same. I hope his injury isn't serious and he can get back out there soon.

Cole Garvin looked good for us at QB, our offense should be good this season, just got to get our defense to look like it did in the first half.

GO JAGS, I'm ready for the rest of the season.

Dude, Ole Mis has problems, but offense isn't one of them. We were tied 10-10 when Neiko went down. They scored two quick TD's in the second half along with a kickoff return. Ole Miss will score points on everyone they play this year. I'm not going to dump our defense for giving up the points they did tonight.

So was I, and saw the same running backs running over our guys, and the long TD passes killing us. But I'm telling you, Ole Miss has receivers and they have a good QB. It was still SEC talent, our defense will look better in two weeks. OkSt could make us look bad too this Friday night.

The third quarter was bad. Right now I just hope we can find an answer at corner before next week's game vs OSU and it's high octane passing attack or we'll get burned all night. That seems to be the Achilles heel this year with Thompson ineligible and now Robinson getting hurt. Anything resembling a pass rush would be an immense help as well. I thought we'd be better in that regard this year. Regardless, if we can get through next week with no more injuries we should be OK. The run defense looked decent enough as did the offense.

Pass rush wasn't the problem it appeared to be. Shea Patterson is so mobile he was able to escape it (and the refs looked the other way on a few holds during some of his scrambles).

USA's defense will look just fine against SBC competition, barring more injuries, of course (after the last two years we are always obliged to add that).

He reminded me of Johnny Manziel when we had him cornered for a huge loss on 3rd down and he got the ball out, threw it up for grabs, his receiver somehow got the ball, and then took it to the house for a TD (over 70 yards). That's just him being a dang good athletic quarterback, not the Jag defense.
