No raise. He just gets 5 minutes a day extra to steal from the supply room.

Surprised Memphis wasn't in the 70s. Tulane looks way too high.
southern miss and memphis should always be together... there like that perfect marriage.
Memphis to cusa... You heard it here first.
The devil made me do it... Hehe
Ok, Pony94, I was replying to this post, and I have yet to see the first thing about Memphis going back to C-USA. Per the Bleacher Report article, USM is tied with ECU and is actually superior to seven AAC teams. As for Marshall, they are better/superior to six AAC teams. If I don't know what I'm talking about, I should have never graduated high school let alone got a job or a college degree to begin with because this is basic reading comprehension.
Well graduate high school at least. The job is debatable, i mean working at macdonalds is a job. The college degree? Nope, high school is about acquiring knowledge, college is about learning how to critically analyze that knowledge.
Things like credibility of source (it fails), methodology (it fails), and logical conclusions of presented data/information are necessary skills for college graduates to get careers.
Touché Tulsafan, touché. I thought you guys were actually considering the bleacher report a valid source. Pony, I'm a good learner.

You are right. Just ask Frank Haith. He can/is/does cheat with the best of them.
And I love how you refer to your school as "TU," when you're the least known TU in our conference after Tulane U and Temple U.

The Houston and SMU programs are rich with big wins and eye popping stats from outstanding players. They had the huge advantage of being in a conference that had the same prestige of the P5 today and to a much lesser extent a bigger pay check annually.
I'm certainly not saying that neither deserved to be there, but they did enjoy an advantage over most of us in recruiting to a major conference during that period.

I follow the Rockets and recruiting 365 days a year. I attended Bowl games, anything Toledo game near the State of Florida, donate to the program, but I live 1300 miles away not attending a lot of home games. Could care less about twitter unless it's a recruit's account. So obviously I'm not an engaged fan. Crappy methodology.

Yep. Rankings like this that count bowl game trips back in a long history always hurt Memphis, b/c we were independent for decades, and people don't realize that independents couldn't go to bowls back then. Also, there were a lot fewer bowl games, and mostly only conference champs went, for many years, even though we were a highly competitive team for all of the 1960s and most of the '70s.
Foe example, we went 9-0-1 in 1963, finished ranked #14 in the country, our tie was with the #2 team at the time, who finished #3, and yet we couldn't go to a bowl game.
So, in a couple of ways, a shorter history, and/or a conference affiliation, help quite a bit with these rankings.

SMU was a member of the SWC for SIXTY years longer than UH but both schools had 4 Cotton Bowl berths.
Also, leaving out Houston's Peach Bowl, which is a New Year's Six bowl now, is a little disingenuous.

There are sooooo many disingenous things in that. But my favorite is what 75 years of history in that conference and four, f'n four, cotton bowls lol and they only went 2-2 and that was with them cheating. Their "national title" in 1981 was a year they couldn't go to a bowl game because they were on probation for cheating already and they hadn't even got the death penalty yet neither of the 81 or 82 teams were the ap champ or upi and were the height of their cheating leading to the death penalty, but hey Doak Walker was legit.
