Last score was a pass that was right in the WMU receivers arms that he chunked off his chest and a pick six. WMU outrushed USC, got more first downs and 11 minutes more in time of possession. In the end, gassed with lack of depth, but very happy, ESPECIALLY the play of the qb making his first ever start.

Unfortunately, Ball State's upset bid in Sham-bama fell short. Cardinals "looked" better --- considering it was the ILL-ness --- until late in the fourth quarter; suddenly couldn't tackle and then couldn't complete an open pass to the sideline. Lined up for a field goal, jumped offside, and then the kicker missed what would have been a career-long fifty-something (55?) field goal that fell short. BSU's "neu" coach had them ready to play.

Field goal was blocked.
Ball State really blew it at the end.
Letting Illinois return the punt with under 3 minutes killed them.
Defense in the second half was really good.
