Bump. Sign up today folks, or hold your tears if you can't get tickets to Frisco this year. This may be your only chance.

This is why I have my eye on this upcoming Sunday night's game between Richmond traveling to Soft Houston. NDSU plays some lose"able" road games against good D1AA competition and the Dukes have to travel to ECU. If both go undefeated, I agree with your assessment above. If either loses a game and Soft Houston goes undefeated - dare I say it? - I think the Softies will once again be given more respect than they deserve. Again dare I say it this Sunday night...but...go Spatters? (ducking from tomatoes being thrown at me :>)

Agree on NDSU's road games. The odds though of BOTH JMU and NDSU going undefeated are incredibly remote. JMU has a much better chance, and that's still south of 50/50. NDSU has got (going by the pre season AGS poll):
:@ #3 SDSU, @ #4 EWU*, @ #10 YSU, @ #18 ILSU, #20 WIU, #22 UNI.
And they've already lost for the season one of their 2 Buchanan candidates (the de end, not the linebacker). I think they lose 2 games like they did a couple years ago when they lost @ Montana & to S Dakota, and still end up a top 5-6 seed though, like they did 2 years ago, when they were the #4 seed.

Agree on Soft Houston..

Jax State is another team to keep your eye on this weekend with their game vs UTC. Like JMU, 9 starters back from one of the top defenses in the country last season- have all those SEC transfers. I saw 6 of them were pre season all conference. They just won't have as good an offense as JMU- they lost that stud QB. After UTC they have a bye week then are @ GA Tech, who will have only a 5 day rest coming off of a Monday night game vs Tenn. IMHOP JSU has a legit shot in that game. Remember they lost @ Auburn in OT 2 years ago. After UTC & Ga Tech, JSU's schedule is Soft Houston like- JSU has been undefeated in the OVC the last 2 seasons.

There is more than one link at the FCS website to the signup form. When I signed up a month or two ago, not all of the links were working. I emailed NCAA and thought they had resolved it, but you may want to try more than one link.

I had the same issue, and this might happen on Thursday morning too when they send out the email with purchase details.

define "significantly". i'd also say that there is definitely something we can do. we can buy more tickets than them. they're not magic beans we have to find, we just have to buy more. so there is something we can do. I have no idea if we will but there is definitely something we can do.

by the way, I just got an email from JMU. apparently, any leftover school allotment will NOT be sold to the opposing school like we did with YSU. so there will be even fewer tickets available than we previously thought. not that there is a guarantee of unused tickets again, but now, it's guaranteed that there won't be any available.

12k seats available to the general public. NDSU fans have sold it out in a matter of minutes with no competition from opposing fan bases in the past. I'm sure some will hold off if they ate their ticket last year, but 95% or greater will still buy again this year. It's going to take multiple consecutive years of no NDSU in Frisco before their demand calms down.

I'd say 10-11k of those 12k seats will be sold to NDSU fans thursday. This is something our fans aren't used to doing. We don't even sell out most of our home games. Our demand level isn't anywhere near NDSU's. Most won't be comfortable with dropping $150+ on tickets they might have to eat in January if neither team is involved.

Being generous and saying 2k will be purchased by JMU fans, that only leaves 6k JMU fans attending in a JMU/NDSU matchup. The crowd will be 70% NDSU fans. I'd say that's realistic.

Sorry. I'm just being honest.

i'll respectfully disagree with several of your points. it's all good, though. Go Dukes

I'll be dropping a lot more than $150 on seats, and personally believe the odds of "eating them" are very low. Most Bison fans reported a modest profit last year and are lining up to buy again.

It any of JMU, NDSU, or Jax St make it, there will be plenty of demand, and a shortage of tickets.

Are they saying the ticket allotment will be smaller simply because we reached out for the additional 3K tickets, bringing it up to 7K from the original 4K? Or is the original/initial 4K allotment going to be reduced?

I think they are saying that we shouldn't expect any additional tickets above the 4K allotment

The e-mail that went out states that each school will get 4k, and there will not be an option to obtain tickets from the other school like there was last year. Makes me wonder what will happen if a school's fanbase doesn't travel well and they don't sell out of their 4k. Will they just go unused or be assumed by the NCAA for public resale?

I would think most schools would be able to sell 4K, even YSU if they had managed things better last year. NCAA is just trying to prevent a repeat of that. *IF* any tickets are returned they would likely go on the NCAA electronic market (Flash Seats)

I'll just buy early & buy from JMU in December. See which block is better & sell the extras to other JMU fans. If we don't make it, Bison probably will. Easy sell. Very little risk.
