I respect how coach Houston is dealing with this......it is easy to suspend backups but puts your money where you mouth is to suspend a pre-season all-American. Makes it crystal clear to the team that no one is bigger or more important that the team.

I also admire Coach Houston. I can't believe after winning the national championship and knowing that some players did not get to go because of breaking the rules that others would get themselves in this position of being suspended. I guess you thought you wouldn't get caught, but you messed up and you did get caught. When you do that you hurt yourself, your team, the coaching staff, your family, the fans and your future.

Nothing.
we are ready at tight end with 2 other viable starters, and have deep, experienced skill players at the other postitions. this is old news, just being made public.
should serve to give ECU even more of a false sense of security..

Still not listed. I check every morning. But I would imagine it will be factored in when it reappears.

Yeah does coach have a rule obligation to come out and admit the presence of suspensions? I know us fans (guilty) are noisy and the media will ask questions about starters.
I don't believe he has to admit anything really. He felt it was necessary in some capacity.

Is he really TE3 though? I'm skeptical...

According to an article from madia, Cheatam was getting second team TE reps behind Carlton. No mention of other TEs on the roster.

I thought Carlton did a good job the few times he made it into a game. Though, it sure would be nice to have that "Senior Swagger" inside DF Stadium.

Interesting. Would be great if Cheatham is the real deal as a true freshman!

The identification of which linebackers will step into that leadership role on D in calling out formations and making sure pre-snap adjustments are made etc. is of concern considering that:
Holloway hasn’t yet been cleared to practice at full speed as he’s worn a limited-contact red jersey during drills.
So missing Hereford may be an issue. Hopefully in the next two weeks this is solved.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do suspended players not practice? At least outside of first team reps?

It's not a dumb question. Depends on the coach and team rules I suppose, but HC's I played for required players to practice, but they didn't dress for games, nor were they allowed on the sideline in dress clothes.

Agree, IMO Holloway is our best LB and the fact that he's still not at full go is a concern, at least for the ECU game. I hope they're just being overly cautious with him because he's a big time player who I think we need.

All the healthy ones have been practicing.

I agree this is the way it should be. They may be out for up to 4 weeks, but it's a long season and guys will get hurt, situations will change, and you want them ready to go as the league schedule is kicking in. It's a long season. You might not give them many, if any, reps with the first team but there's no reason not to keep them sharp both physically and mentally.
