RE: Will conference semi-final games get approved?
SEC
West - Arkansas, LSU, Texas A&M, Mississippi, Mississippi State
North - Missouri, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Tennessee
East - Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina
For an eight game schedule, each school had one set of permanent rivals (such as Tennessee and Mississippi State for Alabama) and plays the other eight schools over the course of four years. For a ten game schedule, each school gets its four division mates, its two permanent rivals, and two more form each division.
B1G
West - Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas
Central - Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, Ohio State
East - Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Rutgers, Maryland
See the note regarding the SEC.
ACC
North - Norte Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia Tech
Coastal - North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Louisville, Miami (FL)
South - Georgia Tech, Clemson, North Carolina, Duke, Florida State
Obviously Norte Dame will not agree to gen conference games, so it will be eight for the ACC. Only a handful of rivalries get protected.
Pac 15
North - Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma
South - California, UCLA, Stanford, Southern California, Texas
West - Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Texas Tech
This bizarre alignment actually proves quite handy: the three Big 12 schools are each other's permanent rivals, and everyone is guaranteed a game in California annually.
