I'm beginning to wonder if the correct answer is to eliminate health insurance entirely. I know everything can't enjoy price drops like LASIK, but maybe if we quit having to pay for other people's procedures, health care costs will go down.

It would be very interesting if people had to negotiate prices with their local provider directly hospitals though would take a major hit in revenue as 95% of the average population would be bankrupted by an inpatient stay
