That's fine. I just think it's pathetic that a grown ass man can't admit that someone (in this case Jones) isn't the ass he has wants people to think he is.

Alum is insinuating two things:
1) Jones only wants him back because of APR issues
2) Haynes is not smart enough to obtain a 2.6 GPA.

He can argue that isn't what his point was, but the whole "alternative theory" of why haynes came back is garbage. If Haynes didn't like Jones he wouldn't come back to help the APR. That thought process is just a different level of stupidity..........

You might consider taking a break from this place. He said neither of those things. And whatever his GPA may or may not be is not indicative of how "smart" he is.

Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

He said both of those things. His alternative theory of why Jones let Haynes on the team: potential APR issues.

When faced with someone saying that Haynes would not impact our APR at all: GPAs under a 2.6 will impact the APR.

Now if this had been a general conversation about APR, you would have a point. But since it wasn't, go ahead and tell me what his point was with both posts.... I'll wait

As for intelligence.... I suggest you look up the word insinuate.... you seem to be struggling with the definition.

You take this schit way too personally.

When I was in college, over 8 semesters, my GPA ranged from a low of 1.8 to a high of 3.7. My IQ never changed. All 78 said was that if his GPA was below a 2.6, transferring out would affect APR (true). He didn't say his GPA was below a 2.6 or make any implication to the man's intellgence whatsoever.

I think the sipping coffee emoticon to some people suggest a nefarious or indifferent attitude. Just like my dad typing in all caps until he realized it meant he was screaming when he started using online forums and such.

We have a wide range of generations posting on these forums and raw text is difficult to interpret intent at times. My mom uses (: as her smiley faces in text and I always assume she's sending me a sad face at first.

I usually use the coffee cup to express something I post as being "as is"; meaning I have no opinion one way or another so take it for what is worth.

To be far to ODUfan, there was no reason to suggest that Jones was "feeling the APR hit." It does imply that there are student athletes with below par grades. It further implies that Haynes wanted to leave for something more than playing time. And you know when posting this, the light bulb goes off for a couple trolls that scour for reasons to complain about Jones.

Not saying Alum didn't anything intentional, but reading through again, it's not hard to conclude some "implications."

By what, or WHOSE standard?
In any event, nefarious to indifferent covers a LOT of ground.

Nefarious implies malicious intent; by definition wicked and/or criminal.
Indifferent implies disinterest, indeed a listed synonym is nonpartisan; exactly what I intended.

The standard was set by the generation of folks who grew up on text speak, memes and the language of emojis. Coffee and tea in emojis means "I'm just saying". You're essentially stating something and you dont really care how the other reacts to that information; it can also be done sarcastically in a trolling manner (or as bit said "nefarious"). See the Kermit drinking tea meme for similar usage.

You mean there are NOT? 03-lmfao

First of all I did not make any representation as to why Haynes wanted to transfer. I didn't address that portion at all.

Fact: Even though we are fine now, a "domino" effect of dismissals and transfers could indeed affect our APR, and one less transfer reduces that potential risk.

Fact: Any transfer who has below a 2.6 GPA negatively affects a program's APR.

So, to suggest that a reason for JJ, or any coach at any Div 1 program, would like to minimize transfers, with APR as one consideration, is not only not outrageous, but logical and prudent. No coach can be absolutely sure of what may happen in the future.

What if JJ's Fairfax house was put on the market before he was announced as the new coach?

Glad to see the official JMU emoji 03-nutkick included, but disappointed in the omission of the official VCU emoji 03-puke

The best word might be taken as "condescending." Basically it's typically taken as your trying to be an ass and imply you know better is what that emoticon means to the youth. "Just gonna indifferently provide this info while I read my paper because I know better. Carry on."

I'm just providing information to allow for better dialogue. I'm sure you didn't mean it in that way. =]04-cheers

Interesting: I guess it does show my age but I really have always used the "sipping cup of coffee while reading the paper" one to mean FWIW. Never even considered that it meant nefarious or indifferent. Now I am going to have rethink my use of those little guys. In any case I try to never insult anyone and have learned to stay out of all the Threads that turn nasty. 03-confused 03-old Hopefully those 2 mean "confused" and "old". I do miss giving input on some topics but I happier just staying out of the fray. 04-cheers
