Troy to have the best offense in SBC 2017
http://www.underdogdynasty.com/2017/2/14...neal-brown
Henderson will provide a third down back dimension that Troy has not had since Brown arrived on campus. This will make his offense even more explosive and provide one more big play weapon to a roster stacked with perimeter playmakers. Troy led the Sun Belt in scoring last season and those numbers could get a significant bump this upcoming season with the addition of Henderson.
This Troy offense took a big step forward in 2016 as Chunn emerged as the most physically imposing back in the conference and QB Brandon Silvers became a capable passer in the pocket. Troy is loaded at receiver and they return all of the production from 2016. With the emergence of Henderson, this offense suddenly becomes super scary and explosive. The Trojans could be sitting on a powder keg entering the fall and should put up points on anyone they face. There are questions to answer up front, but it’s hard to imagine this not being the best offense in the Sun Belt.

Henderson is the guy who we recruited in 2015 but he committed to Memphis but later transferred to Troy and had to sit 2016 out. This guy would have been at the Top of our top 4 Class 2 years ago. He's gonna be a BIG factor along with Chunn this year

2nd best offense behind AState. We changed coordinators, so we're going to be good now.

I don't think anyone in this conference will come close to our offensive production this coming year. With Henderson coming in as well as Frye and a Healthy Chunn we have a lot more depth. We lead the conference in scoring last year without Henderson, and Frye got injured in game 9 as well as Chunn.
This is perhaps the best Troy team we have ever fielded with 80% of last years team returning plus addition of Henderson and others.

While I agree, I can't completely disagree with Chief's statement. Their offense under Anderson scored 49 points per game before they made the awful mistake of hiring Buster. With Anderson at the helm, they'll be dangerous. If Taylor Lamb played like he did in 2015, it could be a three way race for best offense. Not seeing anyone else challenge that.

Think they can do better than 3 points?

Your correct anything can change or happen... but with what I know is returning and coming in for us, we will be even more explosive offensively this year than last year.
The Boise State game might just be the head turner early on.

I'm very interested in defense honestly. S&P Defensive Rankings '14, '15, '16, and '17:
120 > 78 > 45 > ??
If we can get in the Top 20 defensively like we're trending under Vic Koenning, and our offense continues to improve, we'll be very tough to stop.

Yep. 2017 is an exciting time for us.
If we can improve on that #45 defense and and improved offense we could see another top 25 appearance.

Who all do you guys lose on your o-line this year? I know the guy that was in the Senior Bowl, is that it?

Yes him and about 2 others. But we have guys more than capable of stepping in here such as Damien Kemp, Tristan Crowder, Deontae Crumitie, zach branner, and others.

RE: Troy to have the best offense in SBC 2017
I want to see how well Justice Hansen does for a full season. I'm still not sold on his abilities to consistently be a good QB. He is going to have a harder trek this season considering StAte has to replace the entire O-line, as well as some on the 2nd string... plus StAte lost, arguably, their best WR.

Hoping we get you earlier in the year. With Chunn and others being injured in back half of last year and limited depth we ran outta gas.
2017 brings much more depth and expierence.

We hear and read this same stuff every year. And yet, shockingly, many of you will act surprised when we once again win another Sun Belt title...

With the amount of plays Troy tries to run on offense, they rotate a ton guys on the O-Line. So most of the backup O-Linemen saw significant playing time. They're more than capable of stepping in and filling empty spots.

Not very many people here doubted Aplin and Knighten's abilities. You have to admit though, Hansen so far hasn't shown the same play-making abilities of either of the previous two QB's. He's not nearly as dangerous.
I'm not saying he won't turn into the best QB in the Sun Belt eventually, but he had his moments last season where he looked... really bad.

Did you see Silvers play against the stAte defense?
Guess that can be said about most QBs.
