RE: a book, thread?? books!!
Might as well post this here. I wrote two science fiction novels. I'm publishing one on August 19 and the other next Spring. I'm working on a third in a planned 5 book series.
I've also been reviewing my favorite 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy Novels counting down from 100.

Well done, Mark. Look forward to reading it.
Read the Octavia Butler Parable books this year, two books out of an unfinished series, what with the author dying. Well written, enjoyed them.

For anyone still interested. I released the Hardback and Paperbook version of my novel Felan's Rescue, two weeks ahead of launch so people could get it ahead of a small launch party I am having.
The audio version is also up as once I submit it's out whenever amazon deems it ready. I submitted it early in case there were any issues that needed fixed, but doesn't seem there were. I am honestly in awe of how well the audiobook turned out. The narrator I hired did a phenomenal job. It's on audible and you can listen for free if you sign up for a free month.

The last few days have seen Felan's Rescue climbing up the amazon lists, making a few bestseller lists in science fiction including: Galactic Empire Ebooks, First Contact Ebooks, Space Opera Ebooks and Galactic Empire Science Fiction.
Honestly, even if it doesn't last it's been incredible seeing my book smack dab in the middle of some of the great books by great authors over the years. I've screened gab a few for you:
This last one is for New Space Opera Ebooks:

Started reading The God is Not Willing this week, Erikson's follow up to the Malazan series. It's like Gardens of the Moon all over again in the first 10 pages, no idea what I am reading about, too many characters and tribes. But I remember the Teblor, and Karsa Orlong, should be a good read.

Enjoyed the book, the Malazan Marines are almost a character unto themselves at this point in the storyline, and probably too much magery, but still fun.
Going to try the Amber Chronicles for my next series. Also was gifted a few SF short story collections over the holidays, in various states of disrepair, from my mom who loves thrift stores, looking forward to picking at those.
