The 110 will be marching in the 2017 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They have also participated in Bill Clinton's inauguration parade, the Rose Bowl parade, and the 2000 and 2005 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades.
I must say, it was pretty cool to find out Robert W. Smith was a former director of the Sound of the South. We played his composition "The Divine Comedy" back in high school, which I highly enjoyed.
Believe he still writes stuff for Troy.

Meh, "My band can beat up your band" is simply a Troy coping mechanism to make up for the last 5 years of football.
Good thing football teams improve...But your band will always suck.
I'll be honest man, I don't particularly care if our band is any good. Their job is to play music at half, and try to use a good selection of music to keep us entertained during the game. I'd like to move them out of the wonderful seats they have and into the end zone so we can sell those seats to season ticket holders for 40 bucks a game.
I mean, if you guys really care about your band, good for you, but it's not critical. I'll admit, you have a good band though.

Having seen both in person I have to go with Ohio's band on this one. Troy is good but the 110 put on a show from non-stop last year.

Like Troy4ever said
Your can't compare the two... two completely different styles of play. it a matter of option on the two.
I've seen Ohios band too as we have played up against them. I prefer our southern traditional style. If the two played at the same time the SOTS would over power them

Troy has the best band I've ever seen. If Ohio is better then just cancel the game and let the band's play. Lol

I'm not a fan of trying to compare artists the way you compare athletes but I will say as an Ohio grad that the marching 110 is a huge, huge source of pride for the school. It's probably the most iconic and recognizable representation of Ohio University in the eyes of many students and alums . The 110 has had a string of viral videos in recent years including Party Rock Anthem (10.5M views), Gangnam Style (8.9M views) andThe Fox (2.7M views).
No need to rank, you can't have too many good bands at a football game, enjoy them both!

It's Troys too... music education is one of the meat degrees of the university... when we go to away games many people always ask if we brought our band with us as we have a reputation. We are the only SBC school to travel our band as much as we do.
