I just showed that I did face it and still voted using what I believe to be the correct consideration.
No you didn't. You gave up pennies, not your job. If you have a family, you gave up even less... and would have been asked to sacrifice even more if it was your job.

They have immediate responsibilities and they vote for their family.
You'd have a point if it was easy to show that voting for one candidate would immediately, positively affect their situation.
That they believe it will, does not mean it will.
Why does it have to be immediate? Why does it have to be positive (if the alternative is negative). and I'd tell you the same thing about 'beliefs'.
This is precisely the attitude that cost democrats the election. They expected people to vote against their own interests and they didn't offer ANY alternatives.

But they were given a concrete plan. They chose against protecting the greater good, instead.
COncrete plan for THEM Bison. and no they weren't. Nobody can demonstrate that shutting down coal in the US will make any meaningful difference whatsoever. That's the problem with 'global warming'. You don't merely have to accept that man is negatively impacting the environment, but that this is somehow reversible by eliminating coal in the US. You can't even show that eliminating coal globally would reverse it... much less that you have the ability to do such a thing.

They were given a better option, in my opinion.
Obviously they disagreed... and if you wouldn't have, then you don't have a family dependent upon your job.

I don't. I even offered that the govt could buy coal and then just not burn it.
You rejected that, because of your ideology. So really I should be asking you: why do you hate poor people?
Democrats rejected that.

Didn't I already state that I chose to forgo more money in my pocket so that the school district could have more money?
You may need to restate/clarify the point you're trying to make.
His point is that while you don't have children, improving the schools in your area are STILL likely more in your personal interest than a little property tax money. Better schools are good for your property value and generally lead to better jobs and amenities in your community.
I'm still trying to figure out how a 1/2 of degree reduction in the global temperature increase over 50 years (which you can't even pretend to promise) is more important than putting food on your table tonight.
