Grubhub is getting hammered. The CEO is trying to take back his comment, but it isn't helping. Stock is taking a hit. Hope he enjoys what his big mouth did for his company. He is also going to be sued by some employees. Bet he wishes he had kept his thoughts to himself instead of threatening employees. Hope this smuck is enjoying his 15 minutes.

There will be a class action suit within 72hours, probably by two or three different firms. He picked the wrong time to sell off most of his stock.

RE: Boss tells pro-Trump employees to resign
"After backlash to the email exploded online on Thursday, Maloney issued a followup statement claiming that his message of tolerance had been misunderstood and that he had never asked Trump voters to resign. From Grubhub:"

Quote:Some of the statements in my email (please see full text below) have been misconstrued. I want to clarify that I did not ask for anyone to resign if they voted for Trump. I would never make such a demand. To the contrary, the message of the email is that we do not tolerate discriminatory activity or hateful commentary in the workplace, and that we will stand up for our employees.

Grubhub welcomes and accepts employees with all political beliefs, no matter who they voted for in this or any election. We do not discriminate on the basis of someone’s principles, or political or other beliefs.

I deeply respect the right of all citizens to vote for the candidate of their choice. In fact, I offered extra flexibility on Tuesday and encouraged all our employees to go vote. There is a place for all points of view at Grubhub. We value diverse perspectives and believe those perspectives help to create a better product and a better workplace culture.

"Maloney’s critics, however, did not appear to be terribly convinced by the “clarification” and continued to promote the #boycottgrubhub hashtag on social media.

“Hi @Grubhub I’m a Trump supporter & use(d) your service A LOT, but no longer will,” wrote Tammy Bruce, a Fox News contributor, on Twitter. “I’m sure many of my 100K+ followers feel the same.”

I think that's true, but I don't know if the company actually did it. They did threaten it though. The board approved.

RE: Boss tells pro-Trump employees to resign
The thing I don't get about what the GrubHub CEO wrote is:
How can he claim to want a culture of inclusiveness and open-mindedness if he doesn't want to include people with opinions that differ from his? To really grow, he should want to challenge himself to listen and try to understand everyone. By eliminating opposing viewpoints from the workplace, he ends up creating a virtual echo chamber. He doesn’t want free-thinkers he wants liberal automatons.

One of the things I love about this board is that while I don't necessarily agree with everyone on here, I get to read and try to understand a broad swath of opinions, challenging me to really think, look inward and evaluate my viewpoints.

This Libturd reminds me of one of my co-workers. He was a white, retired Army guy who despised our supervisor who was Hispanic. One time he shouted out angrily, "this f*****g Mexican is prejudiced". I started laughing and he turned to me, "what the F are you laughing about?" I just told him to go back to what he just said. Could it be this guy? LOL

Business owners should be able to do what they want as long as they aren't discriminating against protected categories. Wanting to work with people of your own political and world view seems ok to me.

Of course, the stock market hammering is justified too.

Sure...Do what you want. Just be prepared for the marketplace to respond. Actions have consequences.
