Attendance: Week 11
Since we are in the middle of MACtion, I have decided to start the attendance thread after the first game or two of the week and edit it after each game. So here goes:
Buffalo 15,447
NIU (Chicago) 10,180
MAC Avg. 8,242
Akron 6,605 (So what's the excuse since there was no World Series, no election and no rain?)
KSU 4,536 (Sure, it's election night and it was raining, but still.)
BSU 4,442 (Was it raining in Muncie?)

No excuse. Akron sucks and no one cares.

RE: Attendance: Week 11
Please tell me these figures are a joke...Did we really have 4 games at 10k or less...and 2 under 5k?? The high school football playoff game I'm about to attend this Saturday will have 6 thousand plus...

RE: Attendance: Week 11
You mean 4000+ people traveled on a Tuesday night in a torrential downpour to watch a poor team?

It's not a joke. Those are the official numbers reported in the box scores.

I don't know why you are so shocked by these numbers. They seem pretty consistent with MACtion numbers.

I doubt there has ever been a season in MAC history where there weren't multiple sub-10k crowds. This is the MAC. This is what we do. We have some crowds in the 20K's, most around 15K, and a good number under 10K every season, for as long as I can remember, and I can remember a lot of seasons.
I dunno Axeme these are pretty sad crowd numbers.

agreed. these are not shocking if you have been following the MAC for any length of time. once again, MACtion is not about attendance; it is about television...plain and simple. that's it and that's all it will ever be.

RE: Attendance: Week 11
I've been following the MAC for awhile now too...we usually have games around the 10k mark but not multiple games 7k or less, usually just one or maybe two. This weeks figures have got to be one of the worst in history.

RE: Attendance: Week 11
Under 5k is pretty low turnout... even for November MACtion. However, I do remember a couple November games in past years that reported 10k+ in the seats, but in actuality, it was probably half that.

RE: Attendance: Week 11
Keep in mind that it depends who's hosting the MACtion. Teams like Akron don't inflate much at all, so when they have weeknight games it looks especially low while some in the conference inflate numbers more so they're in the five-digit range on paper.
