Nope, it was a choke. Falcons had a first down on the Patriots 22 with an 8 point lead and less than 5 minutes to go. A field goal from there would have made it a two score game and pretty much over. But they ran wide (lost a yard), took a sack that STILL was in makeable field goal range, then a holding penalty and an incomplete. This was a remarkably bad series of calls and execution, almost entirely on the Falcons (Patriots get credit for a coverage sack but only because the Falcons made a terrible play call), that cost them the game. If they had elected to run up the middle 3 times, at WORST they would have lost 5 or 6 yards and been able to attempt a 45 yard field goal to go up by 13.

Well, the Falcons D could have also stepped up and stopped Brady & Co.

When Edelman made that catch, you knew the football gods had made their choice.

The falcons defense did their job hold the Pats to 3 points in the 1st half. The falcons offense failed to stay on the field long enough to give them any rest. They were gassed in the 4th quarter. But as already mentioned, get a FG after that Julio Jones catch down at the 22, and the game is over

when Julio made that catch, I thought it was over. Run three times and kick the field goal...

Atlanta had the game won and let it slip away...
