Just heard on 13 News that Va Tech suspended Chris Clark ( 6' 6" SG out of Cape Henry Collegiate) from the basketball team. Details behind the suspension were not available.

I think he may have been booted. His name was removed from their roster.

Supposedly grade related.

I would love it if we could find a way to get him. I really like his game. I've always thought if he had gone to a mid major he could have been a Nick King type of star. He is a bit undersized for his position at the ACC level but holds his own, and at times shines. At our level, I think he could be the type of guy you build a really good mid major around.

If not reinstated, my hunch would be VCU, reunite with buddy Evans. When Rice played at ODU a couple of years ago, Clark came for the game, sat in Rice rooting section.

Good thing for him he never redshirted. He can get his grades in order, graduate and transfer for his senior year.

Unlikely. Usually guys with grade issues don’t graduate early or on time.

If he was kicked off for grades, they had to have been a major issue.

It's probably unlikely. And the school will need to be willing to assist him. But do y'all remember how many credits Zoran was able to finish in a matter of months to graduate?

Former 4* recruit, AJ Oliver is transferring from Clemson and is visiting us on Monday. Things are happening very quickly for the skilled SG. He is a redshirt Sophomore.

As we know basketball recruiting is about relationships. AJ Oliver is son of Anthony Oliver who played with Bryant Stith at UVa while JJ was head coach. Hopefully he has a good visit.

That's a good find DaBig. Hope it works out! We'd have an impressive set of transfers and recruits for next season.

Oliver is also the son of recently fired (since close of last season) Clemson Women’s Basketball Coach, Audra Smith. Might have something to do his leaving. Coming here with some familiar family relationships might be a good thing.

By the end of his freshmen season last year he’d become Clemson’s long range shooter off the bench.

He enrolled at Clemson in Jan 2017 and redshirted for only 1/2 year. I think he would end up losing 1/2 year of eligibility. not sure how that works. But if he enrolls anywhere in January. He'd have to sit a year and not be eligible till Dec 2019. If he loses the 1/2 year, his first season might be 2020-2021. Then have 2 full seasons. Again, not sure how it would work out.

That's true wherever he goes, unless he goes DIII. There might be a waiver the school can apply for. NCAA has come a long way since Hill lost a year for playing 10 minutes in a close scrimmage. Sounds like a good guy, hope it works out for him (to be a Monarch).

Maybe he's on pace to graduate by December? I think he was a mid-year enrollee.
