It doesn't affect my season ticket renewal, but I'd think having an officially released schedule prior to the renewal deadline might help ticket sales, especially since there are only 14 home games on the unofficial schedule thus far, compared to the 17-18 in previous years. I will say the lack of non-D1 schools on the schedule at this point is encouraging.
It's looking like there may only be one non D1 school if any at all.
MB looked up the release dates over the past 5 years (I think) and we've released the schedule all through the month of August. They'd be doing themselves a disservice to wait until next week. The news would get buried by the scrimmage. I'm suspecting it comes out today or tomorrow.
FWIW, UTSA, Marshalll, MTSU, and Charlotte are the only CUSA teams who have released their schedules up this point. Around 200 teams have released through today.
It is possible that a portion of our OOC scheduling problems in 2016 may be a result of the doubts raised in other school's AD's minds during the "winter of our discontent" in the early months of 2015 about our long term conference affiliation and may have limited our choices. If so, that should disappear as we move away from that period now that the cause for it has been corrected.

Haase and Pearl made reference to this when speaking about (at that time discussed) UAB-Auburn series. Pearl even pretty much said Auburn wouldn't play UAB if we dropped to a lower-level conference.

Frank Haywood posted on the UAB Basketball Central Facebook page that we're playing Miles on 12/28. If true, that would mean a double header, with the women's team also playing Miles on that day.

Saw that post. He said we host Troy Saturday the 26th of November which I'd imagine isn't correct since we are playing Saint Mary's the next day in Vegas.

I knew we were trying to move the Troy game to a Saturday, but the day before playing 1,800 miles away wouldn't be the smartest move.
We did that in 1990, beating Auburn 71-65 in Birmingham, before flying to Vancouver (2,650 miles) to get destroyed by UNLV (109-68) the next day.

I remember you mentioning that before. That's crazy. I suppose I should have said I can't imagine they'd fly home from KC Wed to fly back out again to Vegas a couple days later.

Gene Bartow sometimes would throw the constraints of time and travel to the wind, if he could get a good matchup against a top team, only to b!tch at himself later about what a dumb idea it was.
Ha! Love it. That Hawaii trip way back when was one you talked about once.
