RE: History of Western G5 FBS Conferences 1988 to present

The Slummit is going to seemingly disintegrate and then be reborn. The NCAA allows waivers now for FBS so a whole conference can apply, not just single schools like Liberty. It would be FCS for a few seasons, then transition up. I realize that 2nd year transition teams must play a majority FBS schedule, but have contended for some time that a transitional teams will count.
Here is revised setup, rather than the WAC:
Great Northern League (reborn from the shell of the Slummit)
East
UND
NDSU
SDSU
USD
Denver (non fb)
Wichita St (fb only)
West
Montana St
Montana
Idaho
EWU
Weber St
NMSU, if it doesn't have a home , can join once the league is fully FBS. Mo St can apply for fb only if it hasn't switched to an FBS conference.
The league would get play in four major markets: MSP, DEN, SLC, and SEA. Get bowls in three of those cities and Frisco, Tx.
Other changes:
Omaha and ORU to the WAC
WIU to the OVC
IPFW and IUPUI to the Horizon
The Big Sky backfills with Dixie St and Azusa Pacific
When did that waiver thing happen, and why isn't anybody talking about it?

It was 20 years ago. But it DID happen.
North Alabama 48, Louisiana-Lafayette 42, in 4 overtimes.
Ok, I concede. I failed to make the connection when looking at UNA's list of opponents and saw Southwestern Louisiana. That season, UNA was coming off a recent three-peat and USL was 1-10 and outscored 553-164.
Now to get on topic and clarify earlier typos:

So 23 out of 27. I predict within 6 years , there will be 25 Pacific/Mountain time zone schools and all 25 will be PAC/MWC. How?
Idaho-: won't be FBS
NM St: will drop football
UTEP: MWC
BYU: MWC

That's true. Hawaii is not in the Pacific Time Zone. Interestingly, there are more FBS teams in those two time zones than there are FCS teams. Only 6 in the Pacific and 7 in the Mountain. Only 16% of Division I football teams are in those zones.
