Bottom line, people like Tom want naked males in the showers and locker rooms with little girls in the name of fairness.

Yes folks, EVEN THE CHILDREN.

Sick people.

Yep. Is there a more debased group? I don't think so.

This is just one more step in the quest for their ultimate goal to legalize and normalize intergenerational sex. The gays want full access to little boys.

I don't necessarily believe that is true. I'm sure there are some sexual deviants that want that as the end goal, but I don't believe it is restricted to only the gay community. To me issues like this transgender bathroom mess only steepen the slope and will eventually make it impossible to draw a line and say 'no more'.

RE: North Carolina's Anti LGBT law
I feel like this is something that I'd need to be transgender to understand. My biggest problem with sympathizing with the affected parties is that I don't even understand how someone could be born one gender and immediately reject it.

Even as a socially tolerant person on nearly everything else, I don't want to get behind this movement. If 3-4 children get abused because of this, I could see sentiment getting nasty - and that's when the REAL trouble starts for transgenders.

Goes to show you how standing your ground and having a sound reasoning for your position can resonate with the voters. Also contradicts the national narrative that HB2 is a discriminatory bill with no merits or support from NC citizens.

Civitas is a very hard right think tank. They also are on the record publicly advocating for parts of HB2. They have zero credibility. Zero.

If they only think that McCrory is up by 5, he's probably down by 10.

Nice wording on the questions too. Its a push poll. If the questions asked were

"HB 2 allows LGBT persons to fired from their jobs, denied accommodations at restaurants and hotels, and denied crucial services simply because they are LGBT", I'll be the answer would be different.

Or "HB 2 requires that some post operative female to male transgender persons, with male genatalia, beards and no breasts use the ladies room", you'd also get a different response.

Or "HB 2 removes your right to sue in state court for discrimination"

Or "HB 2 removes local control"

---

But thanks for the push poll language. So now we know what language the McCrory campaign will be using to try to defend HB2.

I could poll 100 LGBT persons in NC and I'd bet that McCrory would be getting crushed. I could also slant the questions as well. A proper poll would come from an INDEPENDENT group using the likely language of each campaign.

EDIT

I did a bit of digging. It seems as though the Civitas Institute is the d/b/a of the John William Pope Foundation. Its owner appears to be Art Pope. Who was Pat McCrory's Budget Director.

---

So congratulations, a poll commissioned by a biased organization headed by the Governor's former budget director says he's ahead. And using biased questions got some sample (I'm sure the cross tabs are awful) to agree with the anti-Gay line on HB2.

What likely this poll represents is a desperate attempt by McCrory to keep donors engaged as everyone thinks he's going to lose.

---

As a Democratic donor, I get crummy polls all the time. They'll send me a breathless email saying "Recent poll says John Cornyn losing to Democrat" and then asking for money. This appears to be the analog of that.

---

Meanwhile, you can add Denver to the ever growing list of municipalities publicly condemning the law and banning non-essential travel to NC. Enjoy. That's not a push poll but a fact. Add Nick Jonas to those cancelling tour dates in NC. And the NFL's 49ers just donated 75k to Equality North Carolina and publicly condemned the law. This ain't going away guys. And the first time any Trans person is cited for a violation of this law....all hell will break lose.

What a load of bull**** Tom. Here's the text of the question asked:

Quote:If the election for Governor were being held today and you had to make a choice, for whom would you vote between Pat McCrory, the Republican, Roy Cooper, the Democrat, or Lon Cecil, the Libertarian?

Hard to find the bias in that question unless you are reading something into it that isnt there

Hard to find the bias in that question unless you are reading something into it that isnt there

But who did they ask and when did they ask it? Did they ask about the Presidential race so we could check how they match up with polling from independent sources?

Seriously, I could go to a Gay bar in Raleigh and get a poll showing McCrory down by 50 points. Doesn't mean it reflects the electorate.

What push polls do, and this was almost certainly a push poll (judging by the questions on HB2), is to slant a bunch of questions one way then ask at the end "Who do you support for Governor".

Feel free to take solace in a poll commissioned by an organization supporting HB2 and led/funded by the Governor's former Budget Director.

I didn't predict Walmart's stock tanking. I just noted that on the day you mentioned that Target's price fell, Walmart's also did too.

Target's problem is a generalized retail one. People shop more on line. Retail is down generally. Target also released earnings guidance that was off the mark. The markets punish that severely. Target's customer base is largely urban and young. There's not a lot of the O'Reilly factor crowd there.

Wal Mart, due to its' customer base (less connected) will lag behind Target in falling in reaction to the impact of more online purchasing, but it will eventually get there.

I work 5 to 7 months a year on Energy Consulting contracts (almost always out of town, and usually outside the USA). So you see me a lot in here at times, and not much at others. I thought I wasn't going to be working at all this year, but oddly enough, the market seems to be coming back (although not in the US).

I've never worked for, nor am I particularly involved with any particular LGBT human rights advocacy organization. To be sure, I throw some coin at them, but that's about it.

So congratulations, a poll commissioned by a biased organization headed by the Governor's former budget director says he's ahead. And using biased questions got some sample (I'm sure the cross tabs are awful) to agree with the anti-Gay line on HB2.

But who did they ask and when did they ask it? Did they ask about the Presidential race so we could check how they match up with polling from independent sources?

Follow the damn links and get the information for yourself instead of blindly attacking the source or poll. You look like a damned fool.

That sounds like the only thing you would consider a fair poll.

Speculation on your part. If you want to know how the poll was conducted, the links are in my post.

I'm not taking solace in anything. This is a non-issue that has disappeared. It's now June 1st and there haven't been a string of gays being fired from work or turned away from restaurants. Transgenders arent being drug out into the street and beat, nobody is being stoned. Transgender, gays, and straight people are going to the bathroom the same way they always have. My only purpose in posting the poll was to show that the reports of McCrory's demise have been greatly exaggerated. It seems that more people are souring on Cooper for refusing to do the job he was elected to do than previously thought as well. NC is shaping up to be the tightest governors race this year.

On HB2 -

56% House Bill 2 offers protection of individual privacy and safety in public restrooms and locker rooms, and protects the rights of business owners to make workplace decisions without government interference.

34% House Bill 2 unjustly discriminates against individuals based on their self-perceived gender and prevents cities from enacting ordinances that would provide open access to public restrooms and locker rooms.

Again, feel free to think this has gone away and that all the conventions will return to NC and that NC's business development office is doing great.

And also, feel free to post some more polls like this one. Perhaps a poll of McCrory's job approval with a sample consisting of his mother and his kids? That would be about as credible. Seriously, reputable polling firms are independent (this one isn't). Reputable polling firms don't ask slanted questions (on HB2 this one did). Reputable firms aren't owned by his political appointees (this one is).

Real Clear Politics is right wing leaning. Even they don't consider this poll to be independent.

Basically, this is a poll designed to create a bandwagon effect for McCrory using flawed data and questions. It has about half as much credibility as a Michael Jackson Day Care Center.

RE: North Carolina's Anti LGBT law
Art Pope is the architect of the GOP takeover in NC. His network of foundations fund and influence to a huge degree. Civitas and John Locke Foundation are the two most high profile but there are many others as well. Art Pope's role as budget director was a sideline activity for Pope. It was insignificant in the grand scheme. Pope is the Puppet master.

Yea, Art Pope looks like a real piece of work. He's pushing an agenda. If he's worried enough to try to push a poll, fully knowing that everyone with any knowledge of Civitas will immediately laugh at the poll, probably means that their real pollsters and even the right leaning ones, are showing results they can't release.
