When you get a contract extension for 20 wins you will want a weaker schedule. An extension for winning 12 games in the MAC might cause just the opposite. Give people an objective and it will drive their behavior.

Of course it could have been a little different if the home and home with Oregon State started in Kent.

Makes me wonder if my 35 year string of purchasing 2 season tickets might get broken.

O jeez guys. Suck it up and enjoy the games. I don't see much difference with the scheduled teams this season compared to other seasons. Look at the big ten teams with their creme puffs that they play before league play begins. No difference. With so many new players, I see this as a plus to work out the kinks.

EXACTLY. A lot of new players and this will help the team gel. I have been on campus and the team looks good. Adonis is at 280 and looks to be in decent shape. Hall looks lean and mean. Will be a lot more athletic this year. The new wings looks good. I hope we are able to find a decent PG who can run the team.

RE: 2016-2017 Men's Basketball
Anyone have any updates on the KSU Mens Basketball team from the summer workouts and August practices? With all of the newcomers, I am interested to hear who is standing out from the pack of the newcomers and how the returners are performing.

Reads like '93' has seen the new players, perhaps he (or she) can give something more in depth. ... Lots of new faces.

Leo Edwards, Kevin Zabo, Taishaun Johnson, Danny Pippen, Mitch Peterson, Jerrelle DeBerry, Adonis Delarosa all enrolled - usually we get a surprise or two when it comes to actually getting the students on campus. I guess Yavari Hall would count as a disappointment now, but we knew that he wouldn't be coming for a while

Not news on new players, but it looks like Deon Edwin broke a backboard in Croatia today. I'm expecting a lot from him this year.

Marvin Jones. If I recall not only was he stretch four (which is code for a big man that can't rebound or turn his back to the hoop) He was also "the most athletic guy on the practice floor." Texas Southern's gain is Kent States....gain.

RE: 2016-2017 Men's Basketball
This may have been posted / discussed somewhere but I didn't see it (sorry if it has).

I was reading the article linked below about the grad transfer rule, when I saw this quote from Coach Senderoff

Quote:"Jimmy ultimately decided to stay, but he and his family were being called directly by coaches. There's no gray area on whether or not that happened. To me, that's a problem. It shouldn't be happening."

I'm glad Jimmy Hall decided to stay, I enjoy watching good MAC basketball. Just thought some might find that section of the article interesting.

Verrrry interesting .... for every Kellen Thomas, who leaves (for a lower/lesser team) to be close to family ... there are probably 5-10 like Hall, being tempted by the higher ups.

JH may lack the level of maturity you want on the court ... but off the court this shows there is hope. (Or momma knows best!!!).

I can imagine that Senderoff, who almost had his entire coaching career ruined over a recruiting violation, has a pretty low tolerance for people getting away with violations.

Glad Jimmy didn't leave but I don't believe he has graduated so I don't think he could leave even if he wanted to0.

Because he has not graduated ... does not mean he could not have accumulated the hours needed to graduate ... if he wanted.

In this day and age of the 'computer classroom" (see Arizona State) ... it doesn't take much to accumulate hours over the course of a semester or a year ...
