Yes. And although they weren't the main reason we lost I swear I just don't understand what it takes for our HC to get fired up enough to get a T.
The old "cross your arms and push up your glasses" routine just isn't that motivating... but maybe I'm missing something.
The refs were calling the paint lopsided for WKU. I think a different ref was calling each end, and it wasn't favoring UAB at all.
We had other problems as well, but the refs were letting WKU rough up our players-- it's why baxter got the technical.
Baxter CHOSE to do something absolutely idiotic and unsportsmanlike. No referee or WKU player made him do that. I don't care how frustrated you are or how bad the officiating is, good players will rise above all that crap.
Yep, no way to blame the refs for today. Wku wanted it more, we couldn't make free throws anyway.

well expletive, expletive, profanity.
After this tournament we need to buy the BJCC new goals. I don't think they deserve to exist anymore.
we were cold. they wanted it more. NIT bound.

Not saying the refs are to blame for us playing like hot garbage, but they weren't calling an even game. The coaches knew it, the players knew it, and everyone in the arena not wearing red knew it.

+1. WKU's advantage was their size and the refs let them get away with everything down low. That had a huge impact on the game. If you're having an off shooting night, but you get murdered when you drive to the goal what are you supposed to do?
The play where Norton hit the 3, but they waved off the basket to call a foul on Lee was the most ridiculous call I've seen all year. That ended any chance of a comeback.

Well, in the name of fair play, they had to make sure that we didn't enjoy the advantage of hosting.

Refs yes they sucked many times but don't think they cost us the game. WKU came to play & I guess we had the attitude we've had all year - no sweat we'll pull it out later & it became later but it was too late. Congrats to WKU but I have to wonder if they've anything left in the tank as they had so much emotionally invested in beating us this game?

I was amazed at how the refs made Baxter veer towards a guy on the ground and throw an elbow at him.

Their free-throw D on Baxter was uncalled for as well, and forcing Mehinti to lose his cool and slap wildly at #14 who was having some sort of strange under-the-basket seizure.
Third game against WKU. Everyone in the building knew #23 would be allowed to wrap up the ball fullback style (complete with left arm crossed over to protect against fumbles, just the way they teach it in peewee football - his form is really very good) and waddle right to the rim. And we did nothing to prepare for it.
The referees did suck. But they sucked consistently with their year-long suckage. We were not prepared for the suckitude. That falls on our staff.

We allowed him to enter the arena today. We failed in that regard.

Today was ridiculously lopsided. And I could see that on a crappy internet feed 9000 miles away.
That said, WuK-U didn't change their game one bit. Justin Johnson's constant walking and agressive paint play beat us again. This kid has 2 more years. And we don't have a soul that can slow him down. We lost to a .500 team, twice.
