He isn't going door to door, he is sealing the border and creating a climate where there is little opportunity here if you come illegally. Basically the same plan as Romney's, except adding the wall, which the people clearly want.

I've closely watched him talk about this in the debates. He really does carefully choose what he says. Anybody from Texas (or anywhere in the southwest) who truly thinks we can deport 12 million people and not really hurt the economy for legal residents is clueless about economics and should be driven off the stage. Hard to take anyone seriously running for president from anywhere in the country who proposes that. But its inexcusable if you live in the southwest.

He's not an idiot. He's been very careful with his language. He wants people to believe he would deport 12 million, but he basically says he would deport those that get caught. And that's only a small portion. Cruz is from Houston. He knows that deporting 12 million would be a disaster economically for the country. He is sleazy and misleading, but he's not stupid.

So he's basically endorsing the current Obama plan...other than allowing for any type of amnesty.

Three YUUGE differences:
1) no amnesty
2) serious border enforcement
3) no open invitation as Obama's leniency has effectively done

There is a difference between legal and illegal. The vast majority of hispanics in this country working the fields, housekeeping hotels, and building houses are here legally either on work permits or citizens like you and I. The economy would not be hurt significantly if the illegals left. In fact, it would help in some ways.

Nope, he said anyone apprehended will be deported. Is that not the law? I doubt 12 million will be apprehended.

That's why We have laws on the books, trouble is the opposition won't deport Them as They are either a current or potential voting base . All about that base !

The opposition to deportation is bi-partisan led by labor groups (Democrats) and the Chamber of Commerce (Republicans).
