The victim gets a quarter million, attorneys get the rest.
FSU said they wanted their day in court, then decide to settle for a million. That sounds more like they didnt like the evidence that was going to be presented in court.

Not speaking to the merits of this case as I have NO idea. But wow. On a college campus, any Friday night could be like hitting the lottery. Unless this was a slam dunk case it sets a pretty scary precedent.

Jameis Winston cost them nothing. The false accuser did.

There is no false accuser at this time. He will get his day in court to see if she is a false accuser or not. I'll lay a few hundred down to say he'll pony up just like FSU did.
FSU broke the law. They failed to investigate, and they didnt fail on accident. Anyone who knows Winston's character knows the dude is in trouble. We dont know if she is a false accuser or not. What we do know is that FSU broke the law.

There is no evidence and thus nothing to investigate. A public accusation is almost always a false one. Not to mention the guy could have banged anyone he wanted in Tallahassee with full consent. I hate FSU as much as anyone, but we don't convict people on emotion and without evidence in this country.

Again, not correct. There is plenty of evidence. Also evidence is known to have been destroyed. (One of the teammates filmed the encounter, and later said he deleted the video and he didnt know where that phone now was. )
But, if there is NO evidence, you would agree that there is no way Winston settles this case, right? I mean, no evidence, and a false accuser, there;s no way he wouldnt want his day in court, and no way he pays up.
Aint gonna happen. He's going to pony up.

FSU was dead in court. They could have lost a lot more than that.
Whether Winston did anything or not, their actions and those of the Tallahassee PD were just outrageous.

You should read up on the case before commenting. There was nothing public for months. The Tallahassee PD and FSU did everything they could to allow the accused to get away or destroy evidence.
Winston wasn't playing at that point in time. He was a RS freshman.
