It's like that far too often. A large chunk of those are corporate tickets that are sparingly used.
I have been told that the athletic department is working on a solution to this situation.
I hope so. It's a dumb issue that's perpetuated itself for many years now. Why is our athletics department so inept??

This. I get to either go in champions club or green/gold room most every game courtesy of a buddy of mine who gets corporate tickets. The only time he doesn't get them was back when we played Memphis.

Both Coach Chris Walker and the other guy were very complimentary of the crowd, and it did look and sound pretty good on TV. Chris Walker was adamant about us being an at large team if we keep winning. I've enjoyed him calling our games this season.
The crowd DID look good on TV. You couldn't see the sparsely populated upper deck.
I think UAB IS an at large quality team. Unfortunately, our metrics don't reflect that. This is a really good team when they are firing on all cylinders.
We looked like we didn't take Rice very seriously. They controlled the tempo and style of the game the whole way through. We were on our heels defensively the whole night. The frenetic style led to some uncharacteristic turnovers, but we were also very sloppy. We didn't adjust to them jumping the passing lanes, and it led to a lot of dumb turnovers. I echo the concerns of other posters that our sometimes blase attitude on the court and letting all these teams come back on us will cost us a game we shouldn't lose. Hopefully we stop that trend soon. This team is good enough to win out the rest of the season, but that will be very tough to do..
Exactly. With the exception of the UTSA game and I think the MTSU game that we had to come from behind in the second half and win, we've had lapses in the second half of every conference game that has allowed the opposing team to get back into it. It nearly cost us the ODU and Charlotte games. I get it, it's basketball and teams are gong to make runs, but anytime this happens it seems to be less about what the other team is doing and more about sloppy play, lack of concentration, and poor fundamentals on our part. We're good, probably the best team in the conference, but we're not so good that we can afford to keep playing that way and it not cost us a game.
