There's no reason to ignore reality just because he is cloaked in the Crimson cloth. If you don't like him for that reason, say so. He can coach. He was a great high school coach, too.

If we're looking for a coach Clark type after zero, the Jimbo Fisher situation never happens. Neil Callaway never happens. McGoo never happens. They worst decade of college football never happens. In short, we never put ourselves in the position our enemy wanted us in. lol
If you think that would have saved football you are delusional. Bryant and St. John were going to do what they were going to do, no matter what.
Even with a 10 win team?
What makes you think they would have let it get to that point?

Think what you would like about Brian Mackin, he always has and always will bleed green and gold. We will probably never know what went on behind the scenes, what he knew and when he knew it. When we don't know what really happen, it is never wise to make assumptions based on far too little information.
What we should to rely on what we do know about the man. Based on that knowledge I believe Brian did everything he could to save the program and when he realized he couldn't win, he gave up his dream job rather than become Watt's toady.
Others will continue to believe differently, and that's okay. I am not trying to get into an argument or convince anyone to change his/her mind. When so little is known, people are entitled to their opinions.
I just want to state for the record that I believe that Brian is one of the victims of Watts' malice and incompetence, like the rest of us, not one of our enemies. Perhaps he is one of the bigger victims. If I am correct, while the rest of us rejoice in the program's resurgence, he continues to pay a lasting price.

I saw them lose to Texas State with Cody Clements, Gerald Everett, DJ Vinson, and Josh Magee on offense. One hell of a coach for sure.
