Quran (47:3-4) - "Those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord... So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives)... If it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost."

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."


There is SO much more of this **** in the Koran, too. So, in my opinion, anyone who considers themselves a devout Muslim should be considered dangerous.

Totally agree that is underlying issue is "Right wing Religious fanatics" . Regardless of what religion they are fanatic about.

Where are the moderate people? It seems like the left and the right have become more polarized since this century started.

Condemning is all fine and good....but WHAT are they doing, proactively, to prevent the spread of radical Islam? What actions are they taking?

Just seems silly to me. I mean, I don't support folks blowing up Planned Parent Hood locations but I'm not personally doing anything to stop folks for doing that sort of thing. To me, it's the same with regard to normal every day peaceful Muslims, etc.

Not a lot of folks blowing up PP facilities.

Billions of people. One guy shoots an abortion doctor. Not much to combat. Now Islam and terrorism... well that's on quit a different level.

With respect, I don't like the idea of telling 'others' what their book says. I think the far better argument is how 'others' actually act on their own book.

Anyone who doesn't admit that there are a reasonably large number (regardless of the percentage) of people who think that they will be 'blessed' somehow by intentionally spilling the blood of innocents who have a different opinion than they do is lying.

Personally I'm fine with all the Muslims who are ignorant of what their book says.

The problem stems from the cleric releasing the masses from mosque then going into the basement with the select and studying it beyond the platitudes they hand out upstairs.

Well, 'what their book says' is a lot like 'what the bible says'.... and there are thousands of interpretations, including many 'what it says and whether that is still valid (based on Jesus) or applicable to modern day' is still open to interpretation. What I mean is that the Bible says don't eat pork or shellfish (as well as many far worse things) but not many Christians really hold that anymore. I don't care what the Quaran 'says', I care (like you do) what they're teaching their flocks that it 'says' downstairs.

Sound great, until you realize that this group is in Indonesia, not the middle east, Europe or the US.... and 50mm out of roughly 275mm Muslims in Indonesia is about 18%? Also that assumes that all 50mm members of that group support the leadership's comment, which is a huge assumption. Suddenly it doesn't look like such an outcry anymore, does it?
