Nothing quite as sad and disappointing as unrealized potential.
Actually this is what is sad.....this team is 9-2 and deserves our full support; stop fretting over what could have been
And might I suggest spending some time with Iowa State fans for a dose of reality....we've got it MUCH better than 95% of the programs out there.
I've seen 10-1, 10-0-1, 9-2 seasons before. I've seen Rocket teams ranked before. But I have never been privileged to see a Rocket football team go undefeated and untied. And i think this team flushed it away.
Winning against WMU would have taken away some of that hurt. Even if we lost in the MACC.
I didn't enjoy the season. But are you suggesting I am obligated to accept it for some reason?
You think Notre Dame fans are dancing in the streets about 10-2?
No, but I guarantee if they had another home game, they'd sell out their 80,000+ stadium with ease...and I guarantee they're going to have a huge following to their bowl. Our fans need to do more of this type of support.
Why? When it's so much easier to sit at home and ***** and complain about every little thing.

My apologies if your original comments were not directed at me; however, as they were posted as a direct follow up to a post I made, that was the impression that I took away from it at the time. Thanks for the clarification.
I admit to having a hair trigger response to those who I sense are intolerant of any criticism of any Rocket program by calling out posters as "bad fans". This goes back to the 2012-2013 WBB season, the last really good season the team has had, when in midst of much success I raised a concern about the future as none of the young players were getting any significant floor time on that overly senior laden team. About a half dozen fans, that I have since labeled the "Kool Aid Crowd" were all over me like a chicken on a June bug for having the audacity to question "their" practically perfect in every way program. Since that encounter, I have been a bit thin-skinned about what I consider a lack of tolerance for other's opinions.

When has UT. Ever had a big flashy hire?
We hire coordinators away from other schools or promote them.
The last head football coach that was hired that was not a coordinator at another school was Nick Saban. He was the secondary coach for the Houston Oilers under Jerry Glanville at the time.
You suppose Saban ever saw Elvis in the "will call" ticket line at Houston?

No, but close, he yells "next man up to kick BGSU's ass (again)."

What has babers done compared to Campbell? Win the east while losing to all 4 West teams on the schedule. The past two seasons Toledo would have won the East!? That would be 2 title games, just like BG.

Dino beat Western this year... by a lot. Hey... didn't you guys play Western this year..how'd that work out for you?
We play NIU in the MACC on fri...we're favored by over 10pts right now. I'm sorry... you guys haven't played in the MACC in a gazillion years so you probably don't know what that is... it's a game for winners who don't choke to decide who actually wins the conference as opposed to the teams that talk a lot of **** in September before falling apart in November.

Go ahead and get excited about your MAC East championship. That equates to bragging about a t-ball participation trophy. Redhawks, and Minutemen, and Flashes, and Bulls...Oh my!
Funny thing is, you came on here to talk trash. From my perspective, I've noticed a trend over the past six years...BG talking trash pre-game, then UT smiling post-game. Soak it up, and let us know how you feel when Dino is announced at Syracuse on Saturday.

I know what the MACC is. It's a corporate cash grab that effectively ensures that the best team in any given conference very frequently does not walk away with an official championship for their efforts throughout a full season of work. The fact that we smash Bowling Green's skulls on the football field year after year without causing any repercussions when it comes to meeting the prerequisite of winning their sorry division only substantiates my claim.
I'm much more disappointed in the fact that we lost two games in which we were the favorite to win, than I am over the fact that we didn't win a championship, and even if we'd lost one less game, we simply would have been forced to play BG again. What else is there to prove?? Conference championship games are stupid. If you asked me, it'd be great if the MAC could dump a few teams whose athletics are perennially not up to par with their in-conference peers, plus UMass, so that we could be like the Big 12 and not need a championship game.

I totally agree about the MACC. If the MAC actually cared about promoting/featuring their best team(s) they'd do away with it. Look at NIU when they lost to BG a few years back. They don't play that game and NIU goes to another BCS bowl. BG had nothing to lose/everything to gain, and NIU had everything to lose that game.
I also feel this way about MAC BBall. Too many conference games, too many teams get into the tourney. That's an argument for another post/day.

Sure..."championships don't matter" is the catch phrase of coaching greats from....from.... On second thought, I don't think I've ever heard a coach say that.

The "better" team doesn't always win on the day a particular game is played. Teams that are capable of getting up for and winning important games are not always the "best" team although you can argue that they are the "best" team when it counts.

UT athletics: We don't win a lot of titles...but we sure do talk a lot of crap
And continuously beat Bowling Green.

Yes I realize there is an enormous level of prestige that goes with a victory in a championship game for a conference whose idea of college football is Tuesday night in front of 1,600 people.
Also Les Miles circa 2012 would probably beg to differ with your assumption on coaches and championship games. His program has been on the decline ever since, and it's all because the Sports Channel had to push the toughness of the conference they have a vested interest in.

When you say "we" you mean "you". I'd like both but BG game is No 1.
