No you didn't.

Ok. Get back to me next week.

I believe it. I guess the bet is he won't coach the bowl game. Is that kinda the deal?

Didn't get the details concerning his coaching the bowl game. But this person confirmed its done, and has been for 2 weeks.

I beleive that too. I have a friend I work with in St. Louis who said that Missu would have loved to have Fuente but he was committed to Virginia Tech. I thought he was full of shat but it all makes sense now.

I can't reveal my source. But I'll say, it's someone who lives with a staff member who is going with JF to Blacksburg

If the deal is done and the news has leaked this badly then he needs to just go ahead, tell the team, and then have a presser. To hell with all the bs. Why say nothing for 5-6 more days when it's already out there? That just looks stupid. Have a press conference and put the issue to rest.

Because someone might ask when was the deal done and he would have to admit its been done for a while.

I think that'll happen anyway won't it? I assume he will have a final press conference on his way out the door.......

He's going through the motions. I'm sure he feels bad leaving the players he recruited and built a bond with over the past few seasons.
Personally, I think he may have told them, thus the preformance last Sat.

Personally, I think once he makes the announcement the background details will be irrelevant.
His legacy here will be nothing but positive.

I don't think he told all the players. Too big a risk for loose talk. I'd bet serious money Paxton and his family are aware of the entire situation though and maybe a few choice others.

positive but short.....

If he's gone though and the news has leaked then just make the announcement. I hope he stays to coach the bowl game because I'm not particularly interested in seeing his assistants, most with one foot out the door already, do a half assed job coaching a bowl loss..... If he stays to coach it maybe he will be interested in winning it.

It's all speculation to this point. Just stay tuned.

A VT Fan I have heard from says the deal or any deal is not accomplished as yet.

We'll see. Just hold on.

The reporter asked if he wanted to comment on the rumor and he said no.

He also pretty much said that the offer from Memphis was a nice gesture.

I thought he meant he had an offer from VPI since late October. Late in the interview he sounded like he was directly responding to the fact he had an offer.

That stuff happens all the time.

Fuente woukd not coach our bowl game nor would he coach the VPI bowl game. He would be a topic of discussion and would likely be there symbolically and for recruiting purposes. Should we hire someone before our bowl game they would not coach it either.

If we look to performances to determine when the team may have gotten wind of this "breaking news" I would venture to say halftime of the #COOGS debacle. ....That was pretty depressing....there may have been tears in the eyes of Elliott during that fg attempt! The ONLY way he would miss that

Exclamation RE: Well?
I thought that he would be staying with the Tigers but after watching that video I have changed my mind. His facial expressions and his eye contact suggest to me that it is a done deal. I hate to see him leave as he was great for our program, players and fans. I wish him well on his new endeavor at whatever program he ends up with. I also feel pretty sure that our administration has already contacted or has specific coaches to contact for the Memphis Tigers coaching position.
Go Tigers !!!!!!!!
