Our roster is young and deep at his position. Never know who has his ear or maybe he is just having second thoughts. Better now than later; staff can look elsewhere for high school talent or in this new era maybe the spot can be filled by someone in the transfer portal.

Yeah, I'm good with this. Maybe UC suggested it.

04-rock Really nice pickup especially on the heels of the Jones decommit. Aside from his many skills, I really like his 6-2 height as a CB.

I had someone in the know telling about this guy back in August. From my understanding, if he committed, a few more should be following.

Big fan of this commit...his tape screams quality DB and his combination of size and speed is ideal for our man-up defense. Reminds me A TON of Ahmad Gardner.

RE: FB Class of 2020
Very exciting. I think many of us have always wondered if we could continuously improve recruiting by combining quality with stability in the coaching staff. It's beginning to appear the answer is a resounding yes.

I'd love to hear the "pitch" but Fickell has this program in position to compete for a New Year's type bowl (Cotton this year) on a consistent basis going forward. Realistically, if recruits see that, who among our regional P5 rivals (except the folks in Columbus) could reasonably offer that kind of postseason experience? IU, PU, Pitt, WVU, UK, Louisville? I say none of those.

I was browsing the 247 database for the best players in the state in this class. The biggest obstacle for us picking up all the guys "overlooked" by Ohio come from UK, Michigan State, Iowa State, Minnesota and Northwestern. Louisville doesn't seem to be recruiting Ohio as hard as they have in the past, and WVU and Pitt get a couple here and there (mostly from the eastern edge of the state). It was interesting to me not see more players choose Michigan and Wisconsin, as both schools have heavily feasted in the state in the past.

This is a great point. People talk about P5 vs G5 but the main difference is playoff access. And middle tier P5s aren't playing for playoffs it's essentially about 4 SEC teams, OSU, Clemson and OU playing for 4 spots annually. We've got as good a chance of playing in major bowls as anyone else and we offer a unique home environment that can't be matched. Nothing compares to Nip at night.

Honestly, save for about 12 or so p5 teams our chances of making the playoffs are actually better than most of the p5 (albeit it marginally). if we go undefeated we are in the national conversation, as will most any other undefeated; however, the likely hood of us running the table is significant higher than most p5s

The pathway is actually there on alot of years, of course not easy. I would definitely argue if UC were to have run the table this year we would have been in, and I dont care what people say. The noise would have been too loud, and they would not have been able to justify leaving us out for a 1 loss team. I think 2021 could be a shot as well with ND on the schedule. Not saying the path is easy, but there is indeed a path.

RE: FB Class of 2020
The CFP system was pure genius.

Instead of being one of 10-12 teams in a conference trying to secure that NY6 bowl, it effectively lumped the entire G5 into about a 65 team conference for just one spot. Brilliant.

Definitely agree. 13-0 this year would have gotten it done with how good OSU has been. You need to beat a good P5 and go undefeated in a strong G5 conference, I'm thinking if we continue to build our talent and win in ND in 2021 it's possible. Don't think the 2020 schedule gives that opportunity. Houston was absolutely going to the playoffs when they beat OU and UL.

Glad to see another big recruit committ. As fun as this team has been to watch, the future seems even brighter with the recruits we have been landing. We are going to continue disrupting the P5 narrative IMO.
