He looks like the real deal. I saw him play in the state semis. I'm not a scout, but he seemed to do everything real. Also ran into him at UDF, and he's a tall guy. Really looks the part. I see why the scouts are drooling.

From the clips I’ve watched of him he does seem to have it all. As a runner he is big and fast. More importantly he seems to have a big, accurate arm, though it can be difficult to tell from video. Glad some on here have seen him in person and echo that, along with the scouts of course.

A coach I know who is in the same league as Wyoming said he is a once in a generation type talent. He should be rated higher.

Well that’s the best praise you can get lol,..if he’s anywhere near a Mike Vick or Trevor Lawrence watch out.

We still need to find a couple receivers this class. I am only aware of Tyler Scott and even he is listed as an athlete. Shouldn’t be an issue with this staff and having a top notch QB committed.

High praise! His film is pretty crazy. Hope he can take the Bearcats to the next level.

Ideally he's our version of Lamar Jackson at Louisville.

I think we have the guys, the question is how long it takes for them to mature into good linemen. It's a process. It's the area which typically takes the most time to develop particularly when you inherited a short handed situation.

The OL should be fine by next season. We're just in a transition year when the staff is forced to plug several underclassmen (talented underclassmen but underclassmen none-the-less) in the two-deep. It was also a line that was expected to have a top-tier transfer from Michigan protecting Ridder's blindside.

Next season, Hudson will be playing and everyone except for Ferguson will be back. The offense will just have to deal with it for 2019, unfortunately.

Agree that the line should be much better next year. We are young and inexperienced this year. Next year we should improve from the experience plus Hudson will be eligible and should help improve the line.

I hope we see improvement as the year goes on from some of these guys. They have the physical tools to be good. Just seems they need some coaching and experience, both things they are getting.

Morgan James will also be graduating after this year.

It's definitely going to be an issue over the course of the season. Fickell and co sort of hinted in the offseason that they were concerned about it but I wonder if they were downplaying how rocky it would be in interviews.

I'm hoping they continue to play Metz at RT and Ferguson at LT; Ferg had issues on Saturday with penalties but it seemed odd that they would ask Metz to play the most important OL position having never played live college football prior to a month ago. If they just lock those guys in (Ferg, Cooper, Robinson, James, Metz/McConnell), hopefully it'll improve their overall play simply by those guys consistently being in the same spots game after game.

I'm thinking they were much higher when they thought Hudson had a shot. If he is at LT and Ferg is at RT, I don't think this OL is nearly as marginal as it is now.

I know the Trainer at Wyoming. She said he is just as good as a person as he is a player. I hope and pray he is that one player that we all dream about taking us to the next level.

Oh I agree it’s not going to magically become a strength. I just hope we see improvement, which will bode well for next year. It’s going to be a weakness all year though, just hopefully not as much of a liability as it has been.

RE: FB Class of 2020
So, with all the questions about our kicking game, why haven't we heard more about recruiting a kicker?

We have all heard that many teams don't "waste" scholarships on certain positions, including long snapper. But when you don't have a good kicking game, it rings hollow.

There are a couple of freshman on the roster whose names I don't remember from past recruiting. Are these walk on's that Fick feels confidence in for the future?

IIRC both Cole Smith and James Smith have schollies. Plus we've got one offered and lined up for another incoming Aussie punter. Aside from Crosa, there's several other kickers already on the roster as you've noted. I've also heard we offered Moeller's kicker a PWO for next year's class.

Supposedly considered the best kicker in Moeller history. Completely under the radar since Moellers never in field goal range lol
